RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 26 TO 29

RENO, NV (Oct 25) – Racing preview for this weekend has a varied menu even though seasons are winding down. And while tracks are going dark there is some live racing just getting started along with what’s found on TV and streamed on the Internet.

In our region two motorcycle events will be in the Winnemucca area although they are about 30 miles apart.

MRANN

Mason Valley Dirt Squirts host the final round of MRANN’s season.

The Mason Valley Dirt Squirts will host MRANN’s final round of the year at an event called The Silver State Howl-A-Wheelie. Once again it will be held at Bottle Creek, located about 40 plus miles north of Imlay.

The dirt roads in that area are well maintained and suitable for cars as well as trucks.

Saturday gets going at 9 a.m. with the Pee Wee race followed by the Minis/Women/Vintage and Bomber race and the day ends with the popular Team race. That evening will be a potluck dinner as well as Trick-or-Treating for the kids.

Sunday’s big bike race begins at 10 a.m. and to be classed as a finisher a rider must complete one of the 47-mile long loops.

Moving further west Battle Born MX stages the next to last round of its fall series at the motocross track outside of Winnemucca.

NASCAR

This week NASCAR drivers face the challenge of the paper clip shaped track at Martinsville.
