    RENO, NV (OCT. 18) – This week’s racing preview highlights the biggest event in our area, one that has some insane action. In addition there is still racing on TV Land even though the season is winding down. The main action will be the 4 Wheel Parts Nitto Nationals that ends the Ultra 4 season at Wild West Motorsports Park. These drivers race across a small field of boulders, over rocks and up and down the big hill in back of the course then back down about 200 feet of rocks.   • TANKSLAPPERS SEND MRANN TO PURGATORY

    PURGATORY PEAK, NV (Oct. 15) – The Tankslappers Motorcycle Club hosted round 7 of this year’s MRANN series of desert races. The area was close to Purgatory Peak located east of the north end of Winnemucca Dry Lake. The road getting to the pits was a bit of a challenge due to silt areas but everyone managed to get through and arrive at the pits.     RENO, NV (Oct. 11) – This week’s racing preview has several items, including one commemorating a special event in this area. Over in TV land there is something for just about everyone.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: DTC MARATHON

    FALLON (Oct.8) – Rattlesnake Raceway ended its formal season with the 31st annual Dirt Track Championships. It’s a two-day event where the cumulative finishes determines a driver’s final position and the title for their class. Sunday is the money day but got off to a slight late start so things were rolling just over an hour after they were schedule. Three big races were the highlighted the day. The Nevada Pro Stock Association was ending its season as well as settling the championship battle between Shawn Natenstedt and Travis White. Both won their heat races and would start at the

  • BATTLE BORN MX AT THE SANDBOX

    FERNLEY (Oct. 1) – Round two of the BBMX fall series was held at the Sandbox, which is the Fernley/Wadsworth Lion’s Club Motocross Track. Reno chapter of the Over The Hill Gang was the host and Mother Nature gave the riders great weather for racing. Although three pros were on hand to contest the 250/450 motos it came down to a two-rider duel between Dylan Galliett and Tony Evans.     RENO, NV (Sept. 27) – Racing Preview this week has a bunch for the two-wheel crowd both locally, over the hill and on TV. There are also races to watch for oval track fans on TV and the Internet.   • SUPERCRAWL 2017 VISITS WILD WEST

    MUSTANG, NV (Sept. 24) – Supercrawl 2017 presented by Maxxis tires and Trail-Gear visited the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. What this motorsport event lacks for speed it more than makes up for that in the technical courses and variety of machines used. Three different courses were set up with four of the five classes using two of them while the stock class was restricted to the “C” course.   • ENDUROCROSS AT LIVESTOCK EVENTS CENTER

    RENO, NV (Sept 23) – EnduroCross visited the Livestock Events Center here for round two of this year’s series. It’s one of the largest venues the series will race in and made for an action packed night. This type of racing is more like motorized Steeple Chase but with more obstacles and no water trap. There were logs to race across plus two rock gardens, as well as a tabletop filled with chopped up wood that would present a different path every time a rider crossed it.     STEAD (Sept. 23) – NNKC, the Northern Nevada Kart Club, welcomed fall with the next to last race of the season. Mild weather set the stage for the action at Desert Park Raceway.     RENO (Sept. 20) – Racing Preview for this week has an major event in our area plus others and a varied menu on TV and streamed over the Internet. There is something for just about any racing fan. In this area Saturday starts with the latest points race by the Northern Nevada Kart club at their home track, Desert Park Raceway.     RENO (Sept. 17) – Air Races came to the skies above the Stead Airport this week. For all concerned it was a challenging week and for some a throw down to see just who was the best in their class.   • RACING RECAP: AIR RACES AND OVAL TRACKS

    RENO (Sept. 17) – Racing recap has results from two tracks that ended their season. The main Air Race article will either be out Monday or Tuesday evening. This year’s National Championship Air Races ended on a high note with one of the two close races ending the week. There is a new Unlimited Gold Champion but the race went down to the final two laps. In the end defending champion Steven Hinton made a slight miscalculation but at almost 500 miles an hour it cost him the race. Chasing Hinton was Jay Consalvi, who took advantage of the error

    STEAD AIRPORT – Air Race Update has the five fastest qualifiers for this edition of this event. Due to a memory card failure the article was held up a day but now here it is.
