    Indoor motocross returns after several years and puts on three days of racing. RENO (March 24/25) – After an absence of three years the Amsoil Arenacross returned to the Reno Livestock Center this weekend. Even after all this time this is the largest venue on the circuit as they mainly race in Hockey size arenas. The major class, the AX 250 had a tight points race going into the two-day show with Jace Owen and Gavin Faith being tied with the advantage going to the latter. Both shows were going to slightly shake up the run for the chanpionship .

    When it’s Memorial Day weekend its also time for vet racers to grab their bikes and visit Northwest Nevada. The OTHG (Over The Hill Gang) Nationals second round of the series was held at the Fernley Lions Club’s Motocross track in Fernley. It’s a Memorial Day weekend tradition that draws local riders as well as those in California chapters. Layne Kolbet, president of the hosting Reno chapter said there were 266 veteran riders on hand.     After last week’s rains washed out all but one event this week promises good racing weather. Racing preview for this week has a banquet of different events for almost any racing fan. Locally Rattlesnake Raceway will be dark this Saturday due to a national shooting match at the gun club. The track and club share a hill and usually alternate weekends.     This weekend veteran motocross racers converged on Fernley. (FERNLEY, APRIL 17): The Old Timer Nationals brought riders from Canada and across the west here for a weekend of racing and fun. Riders came from as far away as Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Washington, Oregon and even British Colombia.     This weekend Mother Nature went crazy but the track overcame the challenge and had a great afternoon of racing. FERNLEY (April 9) – 95A Speedway’s second race of the season was quite a mix. First it was dry slick, despite the best efforts of the track crew, then after an one hour hold for rain, the track came in for the IMCA feature.     This week there is racing live, on TV and the Internet. Racing preview for this week has a mix of events for both the two-wheel and oval track fans. Once again there will be no practice at the Livfast Exit 28 motocross track as they are preparing for their next race.     Beautiful weather set the stage for a great day of motocross racing this weekend. The Sandbox, or Fernley Lion’s Motocross track, was the scene of the second 775 Spring Classic motocross series. This time the Over The Hill Gang staged the event. Layne Kolbet, OTHG president said they had 189 riders sign up for practice on Saturday so attendance was probably over 200. On Sunday however there were at least a 100 more on hand to race bringing the total closer to 300. For one aspiring pro that’s chasing his dream Sunday was a perfect day as he swept three

    Finally racing has begun in earnest here in this area as the Speed Merchants entertain their fans. Racing preview for this week is pretty full now that the Easter Holiday is behind us.     Finally the long awaited spring motocross season has started. Livfast Exit 28 began the MX775 Spring Classic motocross season. Strong winds and cool temperatures couldn’t keep a large group of racers away as they were ready to rip. Several teams were also present including RMS, Moto Source, Design Tech 1 and Testa Motorsports that brought between 30 to 40 riders. The second 250/450 Pro and Intermediate moto had a rider from each division going for the victory.
