  • RACING PREVIEW: AUGUST10 TO 13

    RENO (Aug. 9) – Another busy week for race fans and in fact fans of classic cars as its Hot August Nights here in the Reno/Sparks area. And of course there is plenty on TV to watch as well. To the east Rattlesnake Raceway, just outside of downtown Fallon has a full show featuring cars as well as Outlaw Karts with a 6 p.m. start to the evening show.     RENO (July 26) – Racing preview has another busy weekend with a major event coming to our area this weekend. Over in California there will be two motocross events as well as others nationally and internationally Fernley 95A Speedway has the biggest local event this weekend as the Sprint Car Challenge is coming Saturday with festivities, including a bike give away for the kids. The gates open at 2 p.m. with cars in the track around 5 p.m. so it will be the place for sprint car fans On that same night Rattlesnake Raceway will also be in action. The

    RENO (July, 19) – Racing Preview this week not only has regional events but a couple of special ones happening close to our area and to the east. Over on TV Land and on the Internet there is a classic race as well as others to be watched. This weekend begins with a pair of two-day shows with the first being American Valley Speedway’s in Quincy, California.     RENO (July 13) – Racing Preview for this weekend is another buffet of varied treats for racing fans. This not only includes events in our region but some in California as well as those on TV and streamed across the Internet. Oval track fans have two events to choose from on Saturday. To the east Rattlesnake Raceway, starting at 6 p.m. has the cars and Outlaw Karts, that start early in the afternoon. Down in Feather River country the Nevada Pro Stock Association visits American Valley Speedway in Quincy, California. As usual things get going at 7 p.m. down there.

    RENO (July 5) – Now that the 4th of July is over racing is ramping up again as there are local and regional events this weekend. And the TV has a varied schedule as does the Internet. Locally three area tracks will be in action Saturday night. To the east Lovelock Speedway hosts another points race starting at 7 p.m. and about that same time to the north in Susanville, California there are more races at Diamond Mountain Speedway. Rattlesnake Raceway will host a special event this weekend as it’s an all Mad Metal show, probably beginning at 6 p.m.

    Well here we go, another long holiday weekend. RENO (June 29) – This week’s Racing Preview has one more day added to it due to the July 4th holiday, which is on Tuesday. Still, the schedule is full of live, televised or streamed events during most of the weekend.     RENO (June 22) – This week’s Racing Preview is a bit unusual but still full of events as well as listings for both TV and what will be streamed over the Internet. First off there are two local events this weekend. On Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the National Auto Museum is the Reno Women with Wheels car show, which is hosted by Teresa’s Garage Radio Show.     After a quick blast of winter like weather last weekend this week’s Racing Preview will have events running in more summer like conditions. RENO (June 15) —The big even for this weekend is the annual Corey Herring Memorial European Scrambles at the Honey Lake MX track. This also ends MRANN’s spring series with the fall series beginning in September. On Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. the Pee Wees followed by the Mini Bikes, V Women and Team races take to the track.     RENO (June 7) – This week’s racing preview begins with a special event to help a local racer. It also includes a bunch of events in our area as well as what’s on TV and streamed over the Internet.     RENO (May 31) —Racing preview this week picks up after last weekend’s marathon. And the beat goes on as there are two very different major races in our region as well as the regular events.     It’s a marathon weekend for racing fans and a sure sign that summer is here. Memorial Day is the biggest racing weekend of the year and this week’s Racing Preview has a bunch of events to cover.     Racing Preview for this weekend has a varied menu for those wanting to watch or see motorsports. A week before Memorial Day weekend and some things are ramping up while others are quiet this weekend. But there is something for about any race fan. One track in our area is hosting three days of action this weekend. Top Gun Raceway kicks the weekend off with $5 Fridays, from 6 p.m. until 10 people can test and tune their cars on the dragstrip.     Another varied Racing Preview for this weekend with several events, live as well as broadcast on TV or streamed over the Internet. Friday and Saturday is a busy time as Nor Cal Rock Racing, which runs the VORRA series brings the Metal Cloak Shoot Out to the Wild West Motorsports Park. Racing is on Saturday and, like last year, there should be some Ultra 4 entries to round out the field. Saturday is also busy with several live events.
