  • SUPERCRAWL 2017 VISITS WILD WEST

    MUSTANG, NV (Sept. 24) – Supercrawl 2017 presented by Maxxis tires and Trail-Gear visited the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. What this motorsport event lacks for speed it more than makes up for that in the technical courses and variety of machines used. Three different courses were set up with four of the five classes using two of them while the stock class was restricted to the “C” course.   • PCI RADIOS FALLON 250 ROCKS THE DESERT

    SALT WELLS, NV (Sept. 2) – The Fallon 250 is becoming a Labor Day weekend tradition in Northwest Nevada. This year there was a new title sponsor, PCI Radios and this regional event is the last in the Ultra 4 season until the Nationals in mid-October.     MUSTANG, NV (Aug. 27) – The second day of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series event on Sunday was a bit cooler weather than the day before. Fans saw some good racing and a popular driver scored his first victory at the track, a place where Lady Luck hasn’t been too kind to him. Once again, saving the best for last, the Pro 2 class ended the two-day event. However the track crew gave the drivers a surprise when they ripped the dirt prior to the race.     MUSTANG, NV (Aug. 26): The Lucas Oil Off Road Series visited Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend for two days of fast, wild racing. Each day was a separate event in the series so Saturday was Round 9. One driver missing was Rob MacCachren as a family emergency had him turn around and rush back home. The rule allows a substitute driver to race in the place of one facing the emergency. It can be used once in a season and the points earned by the substitute go to the regular driver.     Running a bit late on this one but here’s the event that kicks off the truck and buggy off road season in our area. MUSTANG (May 13) – Nor Cal Rock Racing brought its brand of short course racing to the Wild West Motorsports on Saturday. It was a day of some wild and wooly action around the course as well as over the rocks. This time the course direction was reversed so the racers went from south to north along the front stretch.   • SEASON PREVIEW: 4-WHEEL OFF ROAD RACING

    This final preview covers the 4-wheel off road racers that includes trucks, buggies and UTVs plus some others. This Season Preview is focused on the 4-wheel competitors as the motorcycles have already begun their season. There is an expanded event coming to our area as well as an addition to an existing event. Should be some great racing for the off road fans this year. Things get started this Saturday with a Mild to Wild Fund Raiser to benefit the Blue Ribbon Coalition. The group is an advocate for keeping public lands public. The trail ride starts at 9:30 a.m.

  • OFF ROAD SEASON REVIEW

    This Off Road Season for the four-wheel bunch has been a good one in this area. There were several races in our region and the Wild West Motorsports Park hosted four of them. Valley Off Road Racing Association kicked things off with their first desert race on Memorial Day weekend with an event in Hawthorne. This after they began their season in Prairie City.   • ULTRA 4 ENDS SEASON AT WILD WEST

    For the third year in a row an extreme off road series had its final races of the year here. MUSTANG (Oct. 22) – Ultra 4 ended its season here with the 4-Wheel parts Nitto National Championship Presented by Metal Cloak. While the full name is a mouthful the racing was top rate, wild, fast and intense. It was the third year Wild West Motorsports Park hosted this event.     This was a weekend of contrasts between two events. FALLON (Sept 24/25) – Dirt Track Championships and Super Crawl were two very different four-wheel events that dominated the racing in this area.
