    RENO (Dec 9) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club assembled at the Grand Sierra to honor its champions, hand out special appreciation awards and present one driver with the club’s top special award. It was a festive gathering and a buffet was served for dinner. The meeting began with outgoing NNKC President Brian Rivera thanking the previous board. Besides Rivera they were Jason Graves, Troy Berry, Cody Kay and Stephanie Callahan. Then he introduced the new board. Rodney Rivera is the new president, Alec Beaudoin is the vice president while Michael Dulude is the treasurer, Rachel Anderlin is Secretary and

    RENO, NV (Dec. 6) – This week’s Racing Preview illustrates what this time of the year brings, not much competition but a whole lot in the Re-Run Zone. And there are two live award shows that will be streamed. Last weekend even though it was cold three groups had toy drives to help make sure some kids get something for Christmas.   • RPM WORKSHOP RETURNS TO RENO

    RENO, NV (Dec. 1) – After a two-year absence the RPM Workshop returned to its traditional home, the Eldorado Hotel and Casino in Reno. Two years ago, for a variety of reasons the workshop left for Las Vegas but now its back and this is the 45th edition. The was a full two days and began Wednesday evening with registration and a light buffet dinner in the casino.     RENO (Nov. 29) – Even though there is no racing in our region it’s still a busy weekend here. In other areas there is some racing as well as NASCAR’s championship week down in Las Vegas. This time of the year is when people and organizations band together to help the less fortunate. Especially children so they can have a nice Christmas and this Sunday three groups are doing just that. For the two-wheeled crowd the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs is hosting the 37th annual Reno Toy Run on Sunday. And all types and brands of motorcycles are welcome.

  • NEVADA PRO STOCK CHAMPION: TRAVIS WHITE

    The Nevada Pro Stock Association had a barnburner of a season this year. After the final checkered flag waved Travis White was the champion by only three points ahead of Shawn Natenstedt. The series traveled between Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon, Lovelock Speedway as well as two California tracks, American Valley Speedway in Quincy and one in Cedarville. Due to a cancellation the final two rounds were run during Dirt Track Championship weekend at Rattlesnake Raceway.     RENO, NV (NOV. 14) – Racing preview for this week is out early due to the Thanksgiving holiday. One more major series will end its season and although things are quiet in our area there is still racing going on. Over the hill in Northern California there will be practice at three tracks although they are all closed for Thanksgiving, E Street MX Park has practice Wednesday from 1 until 5 p.m. then Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Not far away Riverfront MX has practice from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday.     RENO (Nov. 20) – Carson Raceway is the newest indoor karting track in the region. Jamy Keshmiri owns this track as well as the area’s Ben’s Fine Wines and Spirits stores.     FERNLEY (NOV. 12.) – BATTL BORN MX fall series ended today with great weather and some hard racing. Hosting the event was the Reno Chapter of the Old Timers and there were 206 riders on hand that signed up for 309 racing slots.   • DIRT SQUIRTS TAKE MRANN TO BOTTLE CREEK

    BOTTLE CREEK, NV (Oct 29) – Mason Valley Dirt Squirts once again ended MRANN’s season at Bottle Creek. The Hare Scrambles event was called the Silver State Howl-A-Wheelie. The site is about 40-miles north of Imlay or 30 miles northwest of Winnemucca and is reached by good dirt roads.
