  • AWARDS BANQUET FOR OTHG

    SPARKS, NV (Jan 25) – The Over The Hill Gang (OTHG) held it’s annual awards banquet at Pinocchio’s in Sparks. It was a night honoring the top points winners, celebrating class championships in the national series as well as enjoying a great raffle. Outgoing president Sedanna Losey was the MC for the night. “We had a huge race at the Nationals and the Sandbox Grand Prix was a huge success,” she said.   • BIG CHANGES FOR FERNLEY TRACK

    FERNLEY, NV (Jan. 21) – Big changes are coming for what was known as Fernley 95A Speedway. One change is a new name, 95 Motor Sports Complex, another are new owners. Last year Sam Marson and partner Daniel Blair took over the track. Last week there was a meeting originally for volunteers but it morphed into a much larger gathering.     RENO, NV (Jan. 22) – This week’s Racing Preview has great news for the motocross crowd. Yes we are emerging from the Re-Run Zone and into the daylight of racing seasons beginning. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  • This weekend 95 Motor Sports Complex, the former 95A Speedway, is opening it’s new motocross track they’ve been working on for the past few months.     RENO, NV (JAN. 19) – Two car groups met Sunday with Reno Cars & Coffee getting things going in the late morning. Once again they met by the Classic Rock Coffee Company located by the intersection of West McCarran and MaeAnne. As usual there were a variety of cars on display from new to ordinary to exotic. Fortunately Mother Nature smiled on the event and gave everyone some mild, dry weather.   • AWARDS BANQUET FOR BBMX

    VERDI, NV (Dec. 11) – The Boomtown Casino and Hotel was the site of the BBMX this year’s awards banquet. Area motocross racers assembled for a nice buffet style dinner, receive trophies and maybe score in a raffle for those that competed last season. The MC for the night was Dana Losey, who started by acknowledging the series sponsors.   • SANDBOX GRAND PRIX RETURNS

    FERNLEY, NV (Jan.5) – The popular Sandbox Grand Prix returned due to the efforts of the Over The Hill Gang Reno Chapter. A huge turnout was blessed by mild weather supplied by Mother Nature. The day began with a series of 30-minute races and before each start there was a sighting lap so the riders knew where the extended course was going to go.   • MRANN AWARDS BANQUET

    SPARKS, NV (Dec. 4) – The annual banquet for MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) is a night to celebrate all the champions, honor special people, award scholarship recipients and sadly to honor one that was lost. As usual there were two sets of trophies, one for the Saturday racers, where the youngest and others race on short tracks. The other set is for the big bike riders that race on the long course.   • RACING PREVIEW: JANUARY 2 TO 5

    RENO, NV (January 1, 2020) –We’re still deep in the Re-Run Zone was we start the New Year, however Racing Preview shows there is light at the end of the tunnel. CAR MEETS: • Since it’s the first weekend of the month Reno Cars and Coffee will have its first meet of the year at the Kietzke Lane Starbucks. Things get rolling at 10 a.m. Sunday and with good weather should be a great turnout again. Right at New Year’s Eve Lance Freitas posted the group now has 5,000 members.
