    FALLON, NV (April 20) — Great spring weather greeted racers and fans as Rattlesnake Raceway opened the new season. The two-day show ran Friday and Saturday nights and a boy and a girl got a free bike that second night. Saturday’s program began on a somber note. Drivers lined up on the front stretch to honor Loretta Christiano, who suddenly passed away last week at a Dwarf Car National in Bakersfield, California.   • LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENER

    LOVELOCK, NV (April 13) — On a weekend that saw a very windy and dusty Saturday Lovelock Speedway held its season opener, a two-day show. Unfortunately the car count was lower than expected but there was still some good racing. Once the track was set during the heats Saturday it was time for the mains. The first one combined the IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA Northern Sport Mod classes. On the green Walter Ball challenged Shawn Natenstedt.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: HALLOWEEN RACES

    FALLON, NV (October 28): The oval track season for Northern Nevada came to a close with the Halloween Races at Rattlesnake Raceway. As a special treat, after the heat races there was a trick or treat session for the youngsters on the front straight. The weather while clear and windy was cold but there were four features with five classes. The IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Northern Sport Mods ran separate heats but a combined feature while the Street Stocks had the largest car count. In the Bootlegger feature it was no contest.   • DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS – RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY

    FALLON, NV (OCT 7) — This year the 37th Annual Dirt Track Championships was a two-night affair with racing Friday and Saturday. Nine classes were racing for wins and the class championships based on a driver’s finishes for both nights. First on the racing card were the Dwarf Cars and seven of took the green with Ryan Parkhurst briefly on point. Next to lead was Vuki Wilson Jr. but moving toward the front was Friday’s winner, Joe Frock. After that the chase was on but in the end Frock scored another victory.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY ENDS REGULAR SEASON

    FALLON, NEVADA (Sept. 16) — Rattlesnake Raceway ended its point’s season with a Friday-Saturday show. While some championships were already settled at least one wasn’t and that was settled in the first race. First up were the IMSA Stock Cars. Both Rusty McMillan and Marie Curtis started the night only 5 points apart so the race would settle that class championship.   • LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY: CHAMPION’S NIGHT

    LOVELOCK, NV (Sept. 9) — The first full season for this track ended with a Friday-Saturday show. The final night ended with special final race and a winning mother-daughter duo. That last race where, drivers contributed to the “winner-take-all purse,” was for 30-laps. The slower cars started up front while the faster cars started in the back.   • DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY ENDS SEASON

    SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (September 3) — Diamond Mountain Speedway ended its regular season with a Saturday-Sunday race schedule and threw in a Friday evening test and tune session. The weekend’s weather was a challenge to put it mildly. However the track managed to get all the races in.     CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 26) — The annual Outlaw Flat Trac motorcycle races returned to the Rodeo Arena at Fuji Park this weekend. It’s a two-day even5 full of action; a blizzard of heats and mains for amateurs and pro riders. Every afternoon begins with a full amateur program.     SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (August 12)— The 2023 points season ended at the Diamond Mountain Speedway this weekend. Championships were on the line so there was some hard racing. The night began with the IMCA Northern Sport Modified feature. When the green waved points leader Tyler Rodgers was on point while behind him Jace Wright, after slowing for a few seconds, began his charge toward the front.     LOVELOCK, NV — Every year the rural town of Lovelock celebrates its founding with Frontier Days. The speedway also celebrates this with two days of racing. After Saturday’s heat races ended there was a Fast Dash for the Street Stocks. Leading from the front row Carl Barlow scored the victory.     SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (July23) — The Lassen County Fair was this weekend and the last evening is when Diamond Mountain Speedway stages the Fair Races happen.     FALLON, NV (July 4) — The 4th of July races at Rattlesnake Raceway are when the track host the town’s fireworks show. They had fireworks in the sky as well as on the track.   • END OF JUNE RACES AT LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY

    RENO, NV (June 25) — Lovelock Speedway ended June with a double header. There were races both Friday and Saturday evenings and the event was the Coeur Rochester Night at the Races.. After the heat races everyone had a chance to catch their breath and get ready for the feature races. First up were the Bootleggers.
