    RENO, NV (Dec. 30) — Well here we are, the last day of 2023 as we jump into 2024. For some they’ll be roaring out of this year and into the New Year when the 2024 racing season gets rolling. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS: • To the east the Tulsa Shootout started this past Tuesday and goes through the 31st. Then everyone gets a short rest as more racers arrive in Tulsa Oklahoma. – Then a week from Monday, on January 8th, the annual Chili Bowl Nationals start.   • RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 28 TO 31

    RENO, NV (Dec. 27) — As we bid good-by to 2023 things are starting to happen in the world of Motorsports. Over the next three weeks two oval track events will see the green flag, a classic off-road event starts and the starting gate drops kicking off the start of Supercross.   • SPARKS CARS & COFFEE CHRISTMAS EVE MEET

    SPARKS, NV (Dec.24) — Despite the cold morning several cars showed up at the Sunday meet hosted by Sparks Cars & Coffee. As usual there was quite a mix of  of cars plus a van. One interesting combination was a McLaren parked next to a Back To The Future Delorean. Was a great example of two different eras. Other exotics were a Lamborghini and a very rare Bricklin.   • RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 21 TO 24

    RENO, NV (Dec. 20) — Here we are with Christmas next week. That means our annual journey into the Re-Run Zone will start to end but there are still car meets and practice sessions for motocross riders. CAR MEETS: • There are a trio of car meets this weekend. RACING (4-Wheel): • Everyone is off until early next year. PRACTICE (Motocross): • When this was posted the only schedule for practice is for the Fernley Sandbox.   • CAR MEET & TOY DRIVE WEEKEND

    RENO, NV (Dec. 17) — This weekend there were two car meets in Reno. One was an annual event and toy drive while the other was the second-in-the-month with Reno Cars & Coffee. • Saturday began with the third annual Cars & Boba annual Toy Drive. The event benefits the Women and Children Center of the Sierra. This year’s event was blessed with great weather and the turn out reflected that.   • RPM WORKSHOP VISITS RENO – PART 1

    RENO, NV (Nov. 30) — For over 30 years the RPM Workshop has started its annual meeting schedule in Reno. This conference brings the short track racing industry to the Biggest Little City for two days of speakers and break out sessions aimed at helping promoters. Tuesday was an evening social gathering where attendees could pick up their credentials and meet other folks in the short track industry.   • TOY RUN SUNDAY AND SANDBOX RACES

    RENO, NV (Dec. 3) — This Sunday three groups come together to help youngsters in our community. To the east the newly restored Sandbox MX track held its first motocross Saturday. The biggest event Sunday was the 43rd annual Reno Toy Run was held and bike clubs of all kinds met at Reno Harley Davidson. This annual event is staged by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs.
