RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 7 TO 10

RENO, NV (Dec.6) — While TV is in the Re-Run zone there is still racing going on not to mention car, jeep and truck meets in our area.

CAR MEETS:

The Iron Mafia gets Thursday rolling at Kim’s Donuts in Gardnerville.

• As usual the Iron Mafia will host its Thursday meeting at Kim’s Donuts. Starting time is 7 a.m. and location is at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

Toys for Tats happens Saturday morning.

• On Saturday there is Toys for Tats that starts at noon and goes as long as it takes. Location is Boulevard Tattoo at 3502 S. Virginia Street, unit 46. Please bring an unwrapped toy.

• Sunday has a double header for two Cars & Coffee groups.

  • Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Reno Jeeps and Coffee meets at the Human Bean located at the corner of South McCarren Blvd. And Longely Lane.

  • That same day, Sunday at 10 a.m., Sparks Cars and Coffee meets at the Starbucks located off Disc Drive.

RACING (4-WHEEL):

• Right now we’re in the winter pause for regional events.

RACING & PRACTICE (Motocross):

This weekend MMX Racing is hosting rounds 5 and 6 of the Triple Crown Series.

• MMX Racing is hosting the final two rounds of the Triple Crown series. Friday practice is from 8 until 2 p.m.

  • Saturday and Sunday are race days. Gates open at 6:30 a.m. then there is practice with racing to follow.

• E Street, depending on the weather, should have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Best to check with the track before heading out.

Saturday is a special ride day to benefit the Rockenstein family.

• REP Racing MX has a triple-header this weekend, with a special ride day, from 9 until 2 p.m., at Riverfront MX Park on Saturday. The proceeds benefit the Rockenstein family

REP Racing MX has a triple header for practice this weekend.
  • Sunday at Riverfront MX, from 9 until 2 p.m. is open practice. Prairie City MX has open practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

         -Closer to home the Sandbox, in Fernley, Nevada     has open practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

REPORTER’S NOTE: With weather coming in it’s best to check with the tracks to see if they will have practice. I’m guessing the Triple Crown races will happen no matter what the weather is.

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• On Thursday at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub showing Retro Radioactive.

• Friday, www.motortrendondemand.com at 3:55 a.m. has the 24 Hour Series 12 Hour Kuwait qualifying. Then at 5:55 a.m. there is night practice.

  • The race begins at 10:r30 p.m. the race begins.

• There are other sources to catch up on races one has missed as well as news there are several sites. The are; www.nascar.com, www.nhra.com, www.mavtv.com, which has a variety of races including snow mobiles. Others are; www.speedshifttv.com, www.dirtvision.com and www.fanschoice.tv.

         I need to add that many are subscription services.
