    FALLON, NV (July 29) — Rattlesnake Raceway closed out the month of July with two nights of racing. Saturday’s show was action packed. After the hot laps the Outlaw Karts took to their track. These are the next generation of drivers on the big track and are earning their racing spurs. After that there was a driver meet-and-greet followed by a kids vs drivers water balloon battle.     RENO, NV (July 27) — The car event buffet table is starting to overflow as we head into Hot August Nights. There is also some racing as well. CAR MEETS: • On Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. Summit Racing has a cruise-in and it’s a great way to end the work-week.   • WILD NIGHT AT THE FAIR RACES

    SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (July23) — The Lassen County Fair was this weekend and the last evening is when Diamond Mountain Speedway stages the Fair Races happen. After a hot lap session it was time for the heats but before the youngsters lined up for a demo derby of their own. They were in those little battery-operated cars for kids.   • RACING PREVIEW: JULY 20 TO 24

    RENO, NV (July 20) — Another summer weekend ahead of us, one that has an oval track event plus a bunch of car events. CAR MEETS: • Saturday begins at 8 a.m. at Lampe Park in Gardnerville. It’s the 9th annual “Send a Scout to Camp Car Show,” and is part of the HAN Event Series. Awards will be handed out at 3 p.m. • Sunday has two events.   • RENO CARS & COFFEE BRAVES THE HEAT

    RENO, NV (July 16) — On the hottest day of the year Reno Cars & Coffee had its second meet of the month. Fortunately it began at 10 a.m. so it wasn’t that hot although the turn out was less than normal. There were also a few motorcycles. One black Harley was parked next to a black Corvette.   • NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB: ROUND 4

    STEAD, NV (JULY 9) — A warm summer weekend greeted the Northern Nevada Kart Club. It was time for round 4 of the season at Desert Park Raceway. Since the hill wasn’t used, and it was a short course so there were more laps in the heats and main. There were 90 registered drivers racing this day. First go was the Kid Kart Class.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY NIGHT OF FIRE

    FALLON, NV (July 4) — The 4th of July races at Rattlesnake Raceway are when the track host the town’s fireworks show. They had fireworks in the sky as well as on the track. After the heat races ended there was a demonstration by Ranger Joe driving his monster truck Airborne Ranger. After that drivers lined up on the front straight for a candy toss.   • RENO CARS & COFFEE GETS JULY ROLLING

    RENO, NV (July 2) – Reno Cars & Coffee had its first weekend of the month meet on Sunday. Weather was great although getting warmer. In the mix was a Triumph Bug Eye Spitfire. This one sported Texas Classic Car license plates. Not far from them was a restored/altered Model A Ford Pickup. The pickup is owned by Michael Babcock, whose business is North Tahoe Classic Cars. He’s been restoring cars for several years. “I found it down by Cabo,” he said. “It was on the beach, completely rusted out and I only found the bed and body down there.
