  • DESERT PARK RACEWAY HOSTS KPX

    NNKC

STEAD (JUNE 25) – Desert Park Raceway was visited this weekend by the KPX series. And hosting the third round of this year’s series was the Northern Nevada Kart Club. Unlike last year’s visit only the groups in the series raced but that brought around 106 drivers to the track. Another difference between last and this year is that it didn’t rain but was hot. Anytime a race like this visits a club’s home track the locals want to defend their turf and this time two club members won their main events. And one of them is among the youngest

This year the 5-mile course wound around the area including a run up the hill “395” and back down as well as including sending riders through both washes on each side of the park.   “Got the hole shot, dropped into this wash over here (north side), was just cruising and my mechanic, myself, the fuel line popped off,” Vaughn Wilk said after winning the Expert race.

A bit under the weather on Monday so this was slightly delayed. FERNLEY (June 11) – The final round of the Battle Born MX spring series was highlighted with rain and wind. Battle Born Moto Fest

Mustang – The Battle Born Moto Fest returned to the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. Unlike last year it was a two-day affair with two very different events. On Sunday there was the Wild West Hard Enduro, a race that went for 90 minutes and the course was anything but easy. After starting on the main straight the riders went up the hill, down the ski jump and headed for the rocks, but unlike Ultra 4, they
