  • WILD NIGHT AT RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY

    FALLON, NV (May 27) — Rattlesnake Raceway hosted a Friday-Saturday racing event. Saturday’s got off to a late start due to rain but once things dried out it was time for action. However prior to the start there was a front stretch ceremony honoring veterans that either have been lost or have passed as Memorial Day is on Monday. Then the crowd also honored promoter Rusty McMillan as it was his birthday. So they all sang Happy Birthday to him. Street Stocks started the features.     RENO, NV (May 24) — This is probably the biggest racing weekend of the year. In addition there is racing as well as car meets in our region. The buffet table is overflowing and Mother Nature is going to bless us with good weather. CAR MEETS: • The weekend gets rolling as the first of 10 Thursday Cruznites gets going. It’s easy to get to as one goes north on 395 then turns west on Highway 70. The location is the Chilcoot Frosty & Goodwins General Store.   • OTMX RENO AT FERNLEY 95A

    FERNLEY, NV (May 20) — This Sunday the Reno chapter of the Old Timers MX hosted the fourth round of the BBMX series. It was a crazy day but had a “winner take all,” special race for the pros. After the first motos ended there was a “Dash 4 Cash,” where the pros would have a 5-lap winner-take-all race for extra money. There were seven pros on the line and when the gate dropped Chad Heishman took off and essentially left everyone in his dust. Lap after lap he increased his lead and won the event.     SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (May 20) — Diamond Mountain Speedway had a Friday-Saturday show this weekend. Both days featured intense racing and action to entertain the crowd of spectators. After Saturday’s heat races and some work on the track was completed it was time to get the night’s show rolling. First class to running their A Feature were the Street Stocks.   • DWARF CAR NATIONALS AT AMERICAN VALLEY SPEEDWAY

    QUINCY, CALIF. (May 13) — The Western States Dwarf Car National Series visited American Valley Speedway this weekend. It’s usually the biggest event of the season and started the season for the track. Right after the National Anthem the entire field of Dwarf Cars, plus a few Sport Mods, lined up on the front straight.   • NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB STARTS ITS SEASON

    STEAD, NV (May 7, 2023) — After the first race was canceled due to weather, the Northern Nevada Kart Club finally started its season. Cool weather greeted the racers for a full day of racing. As usual the Kid Kart Class had the honor of opening the season. On the green Presley Prater was on point.  Soon he was replaced by by Cole Harris, who won the feature.   • 53RD VIRGINIA CITY GRAND PRIX THUNDER ON THE COMSTOCK

    RENO, NV (May 1) — The 53rd running of the Virginia Grand Prix was greeted with great spring time weather As usual the event brings not only riders from across the west but also from overseas. Saturday was a classic case of one rider dominating the race and field. Not an easy task on the rocky course that also had some muddy areas. Right from the start Open Pro Zane Roberts served notice he was the man to beat as he left everyone in his dust soon after the start. He was one of five riders that did six laps.
