  • NIGHT RACE FOR NNKC

    RENO, NV (July 27) – The annual night race for the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) is a special event local and visiting drivers look forward to.     AMERICAN VALLEY SPEEDWAY: DOUBLE HEADER QUINCY, CALIF (July 20) – This weekend American Valley Speedway ran the Gordon Peard Trucking double header. All classes had two nights of sometimes wild racing on this oval. There was an added bonus for the IMCA Modified drivers as the winner each night got to pocket $1,000. Needless to say there was some excitement on the track and turned Saturday’s main into a wild affair.     RENO, NV (JULY 17) – Racing Preview for this week has a bunch of Show ‘N Shines, Cruises as well as racing. There is just about anything a car or race fan could want. SHOW ‘N SHINE/CRUISES: • This week’s Thursday night cruise in Carson City goes from 5 until 7 p.m. and starts at Hooten Tire located 2580 North Carson Street. • The Carson Mall’s cruise will be this Friday with registration beginning at 5 p.m., trophies at 7:30 and there is food, music and raffles. They ask you to bring non-perishable food to benefit F.I.S.H., a local charity.

  • FERNLEY 95A SPEEDWAY: HOT NIGHT OF RACING

    FERNLEY, NV (July 13) – Summer’s heat and a strong wind were challenges when Fernley 95A Speedway began its latest race. Keeping the track surface moist and not dry kept the track crew busy during the heat races. Despite this the program continued and drivers gave the fans some good racing. When the 13-car IMCA field took the green Malen Gonzalez took off with Cory Sample and James Thibodeaux in hot pursuit.     RENO, NV (JULY 11) – Reno Area Dirt Riders (RAD) began as a group of folks that wanted to go on rides together. Lately it’s become very popular and now there are some big changes happening to the group.     LOVELOCK, NV (JULY 6) – While the car count was less than expected on a money night the racing still went on at the Lovelock Speedway. Fans present were treated to good weather and some hot racing.     RENO, NV (July 3) – Once again the Racing Preview is full of car meets, a parade and Fireworks with some racing mixed in. It’s going to be a great 4th of July. CAR MEETS: • The 4th gets rolling early as the Fernley Klazzic Kruizers and others gather at the Wig Wam for registration beginning at 8 a.m. then at 9 a.m. they join the parade through town to the Out-Of-Town Park.     FERNLEY, NV (June 29) – Although the car count was a bit low, Fernley 95A Speedway hosted a good night of racing for the fans. And great weather made it a wonderful evening. When the 13-car IMCA field got the green Barry Stone was on point but soon had Robert Miller after him.     STEAD, NV (June 3) – Desert Park Raceway was alive with the sound of go-kart racing. The occasion was round 4 of the Northern Nevada Kart Club series.
