    SPARKS (Jan. 27) – The awards banquet for theReno chapter OTHG (Over The Hill Gang) was at Pinocchios in Sparks. There the club honored their top 20, handed out special awards and mark a change of the club’s president. After a nice buffet dinner the ceremony began hosted by outgoing president Lane Kolbet. First up were three special awards. The first went to Fred Enos for this tireless work driving the water truck during the races at Fernley.     RENO, NV (Jan. 24) – Racing Preview for this week is mixed although we’re still deep in the Rerun Zone there is light at the end of this tunnel. Locally not much at all but over the hill the second round for the Gold Cup Series will be at E Street MX Park. There will be free camping and Friday is for parking.     RENO, NV (Jan. 13) – The MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) awards banquet is time to honor the achievements of those that raced last season.     CARSON CITY (Jan. 8) – MarTec Engineering is another small shop in our region that came about when the owner followed his passion. When asked why he started the business owner Nick Maher said, “I guess the term ‘scratching your own itch,’ is how I’d describe it. When I was about 15 I got into off road trucks and stuff like that. Once I had a decent job around age of 20 I started building my own truck.” He wanted to install a roll cage, different motor and other things as well but there wasn’t the budget to buy parts.
