RENO, NV (Oct. 11} – According to the forecasts Sunday’s weather appeared questionable so car counts were lower than expected. However, while cloudy and slight cool, it wasn’t bad. • Saturday started early in the west parking lot of the Atlantis Casino. The event was Community 4 Vets Last Detail, a car truck and motorcycle show. Hosting the event were several groups including the Iron Mafia, Nevada Car Coalition and Honor Flight. RENO, NV (Oct. 4) — It was a busy Sunday to start the month off. The great fall weather set the stage for a good weekend •• Reno Jeeps & Coffee held it’s first of the month Sunday morning. While it’s not usually a huge turn out this time it wasn’t bad. One thing a lot of Jeep owners have been doing is mounting plastic ducks on their dashboards. RENO, NV (Sept. 27) — The end of September kind of marks the end of summer time. It’s the time of Street Vibrations and a bunch of car meets. •• While much of Street Vibrations has moved to Virginia City, Reno Harley-Davidson was the hub of activity down here. And it all started Thursday evening. The streets in front and to the side of the dealership were full of bikes. Even the parking lot across the street was full. In front of the building were two long rows of vendors. At times there would be a band playing as well.

SUN VALLEY, NV (Sept. 27) – For the last several years the Impalas Car Club of Reno has teamed up with Forever 14. It’s not only a car meet but the proceeds raised help support suicide awareness.  This time the show had a greater impact on the club as they lost their newly elected president, Jordan Clark, in July when he took his life. RENO, NV (Aug. 24) — This past weekend was a car meet blizzard. While five are in this report there were several more outside of Reno. • Saturday began with the second Cars and Stripes show by the Sportsman’s Warehouse. Several groups including the Iron Mafia, Nevada Car Coalition and Honor Flight hosted the event to benefit local American Veterans. One of the tents was for Jim4 Heroes and Honor Flight. RENO, NV (AUG. 16) — Been a busy weekend. Saturday started with a fundraiser and finished with one car meet. Sunday was full with three meets so it kept everyone busy. •• Reno Harley Davidson was a busy place in the early Saturday afternoon. The dealership was the site for the Downrider Fundraiser put on by the Confederation of Clubs, which includes many motorcycle clubs. RENO, NV (Aug. 9) — This weekend signaled the end of Hot August Nights as well as related event at the Grand Sierra Resort. There were also a couple of car meets. • On Saturday Auto Motion had a meet at its location on Telegraph Street. Due to the heart and Hot August Nights the turn out, as expected, was low. Still there were some cars parked so others could see check them out. • The Grand Sierra Resort had its own event from Wednesday through Saturday evening. RENO, NV (Aug.2) — Biggest car event of the year started this weekend. Hot August Nights celebrates its 40th anniversary highlighting classic cars. • This time the Hot August Drag races started on Friday. The very short strip is on the west side of the Sparks Nugget. While most cars competed in drag racing there was one burn out early in Saturday’s program. After doing that the driver had to deal with a motor problem. One drag race had two enhanced classic racing each other. One started its life as a Rambler station while the other was a 1950’s sedan.
