    QUINCY, CALIF. (May 11) — This weekend Quincy, Speedway started its season by hosing the annual Western States Dwarf Car Nationals. It was round three of this year’s series. Before the racing began the entire Dwarf Car field assembled on the track for parade laps. They honor those lost and the event has been known as the Richardson-Kay Memorial. This year it also honored Loretta Christiano, who was lost last year as well as one of Vukie Wilson’s family.     RENO, NV (May 9) — It appears spring and maybe summer might has arrived. Good thing as there are more car shows, cruises and racing this weekend. CAR MEETS: • Thursday begins early when the Iron Mafia has its weekly 8 a.m. meet. Location is Kim’s Donuts at 1328 U.S. 395 North. • Friday, starting at 5 p.m., is another Cruise Jn at Summit Racing.     RENO, NV (May 5) — Three car groups had meets this weekend. Two were on Sunday, although this reporter was only able to get to one while the other was on Saturday, fortunately after the storm passed Reno. While the turnout was less than expected, probably due to the weather that passed over Reno, the JDM meet still two lines of cars.     RENO, NV – May is here and racing as well as car meets are ramping up, not to mention events on TV. If there is rain this weekend it could affect scheduled outdoor events. CAR MEETS: • Thursday gets going at 8 a.m. when Iron Mafia meets at Kim’s Donuts. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.  • A good way to end the week is the Friday Night Meet in Fernley.
