    RENO, NV (Aug. 31) – With a racae canceled this weekend it’s time to look ahead to the end of this crazy 2020 season. While motorcycle racing is starting the fall season area oval tracks, Go Karts and drag racing are in their stretch runs. OVAL TRACKS: • Rattlesnake Raceway has three more weekends of racing left and all of them are two-day shows. This Friday and Saturday the postponed Octanefest will finally happen.     RENO, NV (Aug.27) – Sadly weather and circumstances have led to a pair of events being canceled. Up on the Comstock, despite changes and other adjustments Virginia City will not issue a permit to hold this year’s Virginia City Grand Prix. To say that’s disappointing would be a huge understatement. The club is working to handle refunds and t-shirt so those should be forth coming in the near future.     STEAD, NV (Aug.22) – Every year the Northern Nevada Kart Club hosts a night race at Desert Park Raceway. It’s named the Rick Jerome Memorial to honor on of the club’s founders and this year it’s the third round of the points season.   • RATTLESNAKE HOSTS NORTHERN NEVADA MODIFIED TOUR

    FALLON, NV (AUG.21) – Rattlesnake Raceway hosted the first stop on the new Northern Nevada Modified Tour. There were good fields during the night as well  IMCA and Northern Sport Modifieds. The tour is a marathon of four races over three days at four different tracks. And the big prize is a provisional at this year’s Duel in the Desert. It took three heat races to set the 22-car main event.   • RACING RETURNS TO 95 MOTOR SPORTS COMPLEX

    FERNLEY, NV (Aug. 15) – After a two-month lay off to refurbish seating in the grandstands the oval at 95 Motor Sports Complex was in action again. In addition to the regular classes a new one the Bootlegger was added, which is a push to pass division that runs on a soaked track.     SUSANVILLE, CA (Aug.8) – The I-80 Challenge series along with the Dwarf Cars visited Diamond Mountain Speedway this weekend. The result was two days of racing on this dirt bullring.     RENO, NV (8-3-2020) – This weekend Rattlesnake Raceway held the current round of the I-80 Challenge. In addition there are other news worthy things going on in the world of motor sports.
