    Interesting preview this week as while things are pretty slim in our area there is action all over this Labor Day weekend. And have some late breaking news regarding an area track. Although the area’s oval tracks are dark this weekend there is still some action. Nationally and internationally there is plenty of action to see. In the local two-wheeled world the fall motocross schedule has been released. Until then there will be practice sessions Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Livfast Exit 38 motocross track. The series begins at that same track with two days

  • 95A SPEEDWAY: NEVADA PRO STOCKS VISIT

    Another action packed evening on the largest oval track in this region. FERNLEY (Aug. 27) – 95A Speedway not only had three of its regular classes running Saturday but also the Nevada Pro Stock Association’s series. The series was running the eighth round of its 10-round series. That was the Gordon Russell Senior Memorial, which is the last Nevada Pro Stock Association round that paid $1,000 to win.     It’s another summer weekend packed with racing as we head for the Labor Day weekend.   Racing Preview for this weekend is full of events live, on TV and streamed over the Internet. There is something for about everybody. Locally Livfast Exit 28 will host practice from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.     CARSON CITY (Aug 20) – Flat Track Racing staged a huge show Saturday, much too large to be completely covered in one article. So this is part two.   • FLAT TRACK RACING RETURNS TO CARSON CITY

    After a decades long absence a popular event returned to our area. CARSON CITY (Aug. 29) – Flat Track Racing returned to Northern Nevada this weekend thanks to the combined efforts of On Trak Promotions and the California Flat Track Association (CFTA). The result was a sell out crowd of 1,600 fans as well as over 150 entries and 27 pros from several disciplines arrived to race on the paper clip shaped track The afternoon was a blizzard of heat races and amateur mains. In the evening the main show would end with the Open Pro racing for the money.

    Another night of racing at the Northern California oval set in the trees. QUINCY, CALIF. (Aug. 6, 2016) – American Valley Speedway hosted not only a regular points race but also the final round of the 4-race NAPA Gold Series Tour.     This is a happy week for many here in Northwest Nevada as it’s time to celebrate and create memories. Some of the sights are in a photo gallery at the end of this article.     This weekend an annual event was held at a oval track in Northern Nevada.     LOVELOCK, NV (July30) – Lovelock Speedway hosts two night of races during the town’s annual Frontier Days that honors its founding. This year the racing card had IMCA Modifieds, Hobby Stock, 360 Sprint Cars and Dwarf Cars. “We haven’t won all year so got this new DeVilbiss car and we’ve been working, working on it every time we’ve had it out and its getting better and better but we’re not 100% yet but we’re close,” Joel Myers said after winning Saturday’s IMCA 40-lap main.

    Hot hazy weather didn’t stop the go kart racers from competing at their home track.
