  • SEASON IN REVIEW: MORE OVAL TRACKS

    RENO, NV (Nov 25) ­— As the 2019 season fades in the rear view mirror it’s time to do a season review for oval tracks. This time I’ll focus on two tracks in Northeastern California plus two Nevada tracks, Lovelock Speedway and 95A Speedway. • American Valley Speedway is literally in the woods next to the Plumas/Sierra County Fairgrounds. It’s a nice fairgrounds track located on the east side of town. The season ends with the Timber Cup, which is the final points race of the season.     RENO, NV (Nov. 18) – The third weekend of the month means the latest meet by Reno Cars and Coffee. This time the location is by the Classic Rock Coffee shop located at West McCarran and Mae Anne.     FALLON, NV (Nov. 9) – Rattlesnake Raceway held its annual awards banquet at the Churchill County Fairgrounds this year. It was a time to reflect on the past season and look ahead to the New Year and racing to come.   • SEASON ENDING BBMX RACE

    FERNLEY, NV (Nov. 10) – The final race for our region was held at the Fernley-Wadsworth Lion’s Motocross Track this weekend. Hosting the event was the Reno Chapter of the Over The Hill Gang and it marked the end of the BBMX season. The turnout was pretty good and a couple of the classes either had virtually or full gates in face one class had 31 riders at the gate. Helping the show was great racing weather. The big winner of the day was Casey Carmichael, who won in Schoolboy, 125/250 Intermediate as well as in 250/450 Intermediate. Several times

  • BATTLE AT FORT SAGE – VORRA

    DOYLE, CA (Nov. 2) – In its first Northern California off road event the newly reborn Valley Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) chose the Fort Sage OHV area east of Doyle. The title was the Battle at Fort Sage, a day full of speed in the desert, silt and dust. After Friday’s pre-running and Saturday’s registration as well as tech inspection, everyone was ready to go.
