    RENO, NV (NOV. 25) — This year’s ISDE (International Six Day Enduro) was held in Argentina. Americans filled the podiums and a local rider was part of the winning team. That rider is Austin Serpa, the Sales and Activation Manager at Carson City Motorsports.   • ENDUROCROSS CROWNS ITS CHAMPIONS IN RENO

    RENO, NV (Nov. 18) — The AMA Endurocross series ended its season at the Reno Livestock Events Center on Saturday. The event was the championship round for several classes. The afternoon was taken up by practice sessions and qualifying races for several classes. The evening program began with introducing the top pro riders.   • OUTLAW FLAT TRAC RACES AT FUJI PARK

    CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 26) — The annual Outlaw Flat Trac motorcycle races returned to the Rodeo Arena at Fuji Park this weekend. It’s a two-day even5 full of action; a blizzard of heats and mains for amateurs and pro riders. Every afternoon begins with a full amateur program. On Friday night there is a benefit race for the East Fork Fire Station, a volunteer group of fire fighters.   • MINI MOTO SERIES VISITS DESERT PARK RACEWAY

    STEAD, NV (June 25) — Rounds 5 of this year’s Mini Moto Series visited the Northern Nevada Kart Club’s home track, Desert Park Raceway. While Saturday’s event was all Asphalt on Sunday there was a short dirt section, with a tabletop, whoops and other things added. First event was the Pee Wee/Junior and when the lights turned green Madix Harkin, who was the only junior, too off and left everyone in his wake. One Pee We fell out even before the race started.   • 53RD VIRGINIA CITY GRAND PRIX THUNDER ON THE COMSTOCK

    RENO, NV (May 1) — The 53rd running of the Virginia Grand Prix was greeted with great spring time weather As usual the event brings not only riders from across the west but also from overseas. Saturday was a classic case of one rider dominating the race and field. Not an easy task on the rocky course that also had some muddy areas. Right from the start Open Pro Zane Roberts served notice he was the man to beat as he left everyone in his dust soon after the start. He was one of five riders that did six laps.

  • VIRGINIA GRAND PRIX: 51st EDITION

    VIRGINIA CITY, NEVADA  (May 1) — This year the Virginia City Grand Prix celebrated it’s 51st year. As usually the unique event drew riders from as far away as New York and Boston.  Before everything got going there was a short memorial to Daniel Heller as his number has been retired. Sadly he passed away last year during Sunday’s race and his wife read a memorial to him.  Then there was a toast to the long time announcer Moto Mouth Bob Cavakis, who passed a few years ago.   • VIRGINIA CITY GRAND PRIX: GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

    VIRGINIA CITY, NV (Oct 23) — This weekend the Virginia City Grand Prix celebrated it’s 50th or Golden Anniversary. Saturday’s weather was almost perfect for the Pros, Experts and Amateurs, especially since it had rained the night before.  It’s a long race as four hours after the first row starts the checkered flag comes out.   • AMA NATIONAL HARE & HOUND SERIES IN NEVADA

    BLUE WATER FLAT (Oct 9) — The AMA National Hare and Hound series visited northern Nevada this weekend. Both the Cheaters and Rim Benders clubs from MRANN played host as they staged the event at Blue Wing Flat outside of Toulon.  The one-day event started with the youth races then it was time for the big bike show.     YERINGTON, NV (Sept. 26) — The Mason Valley Dirt Squirts got MRANN’s fall season rolling this weekend. For the first time in eight years they returned to a location east of town on a dry but somewhat windy day. As usual the riders lined up in Expert, Amateur and Novice rows with each using a dead engine start.     CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 28) — The fifth annual Outlaw Flat Track races returned for a two-day show this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday were a blizzard of heats and main events inside the rodeo arena at Fuji Park. Both evenings began with an honor guard from the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare center presenting the colors. After prayers and the national anthem there was a period of silence to remember the Marines and Navy Corpsman lost this week. After that it was time for racing.   • MRANN: 95 MOTOR SPORTS GRAND PRIX

    FERNLEY, NV (Sept. 27) – The Mason Valley Dirt Squirts hosted the latest round of the MRANN series at a very different venue. This time it was at the 95 Motor Sports Complex and the course combined some of the motocross track, parts of the oval’s pits and an off road course south of the oval.   • COREY HERRING MEMORIAL RACE

    MILFORD, CALIF.(Sept13) — In a normal year the Corey Herring Memorial would end MRANN’s spring season. However 2020 has been anything but normal so this time the race started the extended fall season. The race not only honors Herring who was lost during a race but helps fund a scholarship in his name. The scholarships go to help young MRANN riders that are headed to college.   • TRAIL BLAZERS KICK OFF MRANN SEASON

    NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 16) – For over 20 years the Trailblazer’s Motorcycle Club has kicked off the MRANN season with a Hare & Hound race. This year’s edition was the “Wash” ington 100. Nice weather set the stage for a great Sunday as several out of state riders showed up. In fact there were 167 on hand to get this year’s desert racing going.   • ARENACROSS RETURNS TO RENO

    RENO, NV (Feb. 8) – Once again the Reno Livestock Events Center echoed with the sounds of Arenacross. The series is now Kicker AMA Arenacross presented by Lucas Oil and it has returned to the Biggest Little City. Unlike the previous series the racing card had all the classes including both pro divisions. The afternoon was for heats and if a class had too few entries that main was run before the evening show.     FERNLEY, NV (Jan.5) – The popular Sandbox Grand Prix returned due to the efforts of the Over The Hill Gang Reno Chapter. A huge turnout was blessed by mild weather supplied by Mother Nature. The day began with a series of 30-minute races and before each start there was a sighting lap so the riders knew where the extended course was going to go.
