Racing Preview for this week is again slim since the major series have ended their season. It’s the slim time of the year.     Racing Preview from now on will be a bit slim as most major series have either ended or are about. As far as local racing goes its over for the next few months although there is still some live races to spectate at if one doesn’t mind traveling.     This Off Road Season for the four-wheel bunch has been a good one in this area. There were several races in our region and the Wild West Motorsports Park hosted four of them. Valley Off Road Racing Association kicked things off with their first desert race on Memorial Day weekend with an event in Hawthorne. This after they began their season in Prairie City.     A week before Thanksgiving and there is still more racing. Racing preview for this weekend has the final race in our area plus events not too far away in California. Nationally there is a major series ending its year while Internationally other series are continuing and there is a first time event overseas as well. Locally, despite being flooded out two weeks ago the final round of this year’s 775 Fall MX Classic will be run at Livfast Exit 28. Practice on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the first moto should start at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

    The season ending event for MRANN was held under almost perfect weather and had a good field of competitors.   BOTTLE CREEK, NV (Nov. 13) – MRANN had its final race and showdown in an area between Winnemucca and Imlay at Bottle Creek Road. The race was hosted by the Mason Valley Dirt Squirts and was named the Stars and Bars Hare Scramble.       Season in review is when we can look back at this past year and honor those that have raced as well as the champions. First recap is for the Northern Nevada Kart Club and their successful season. Stock Moto 125 is the fastest class the club has.     MOON ROCKS (Oct. 30) – MRANN staged its traditional Halloween/Nevada Day race at the Moon Rocks OHV area. While the day began nice the weather went downhill after the Big Bike start.. This race, the Halloween Hare Scrambles, was named the Moonrocks Revenge 100 and hosted by the Rimbenders and Cheaters Motorcycle Clubs. The big bike course was 25 miles long so to be classed as a finisher a rider, unless they were over 60-years old, had to complete two laps.
