RACING CALENDAR – NOV. 7 – 9

While there is no racing in our region this weekend this is plenty to watch on TV.

NASCAR sets up shop in Phoenix and starts things rolling at 5:30 p.m. as Fox Sports One broadcasts the Camping World Truck Series race. Then at 1 p.m. Saturday the Nationwide series takes to the track on ESPN.

Then at noon Sunday, ESPN broadcast the Sprint Cup race and who knows if this one will end in a pit road brawl after the checkered flag waves.

For the drivers it’s a critical time as only four of the top eight will have a shot at the championship when the series heads into its final race of the season two weeks from now. So a win could mean the difference for the top teams.

Formula One fans get three chances to see this week’s Brazilian Grand Prix, a race that just might decide this season’s world championship.

CNBC begins live coverage at 7:30 a.m. Sunday followed by an encore on NBC at 10 a.m. then another repeat broadcast on NBCSN at 1 p.m.

Those with MAVTV also have a full weekend of programming. One highlight is the Lucas Oil Offroad Series repeat of the Pro 4 and Pro Buggy race from Las Vegas on Friday at 1 p.m.

Then on Sunday the race is repeated at noon followed at 5 p.m. by Dave Despain’s interview show this week featuring Indy Car driver Will Power.

NHRA fans will have to wait until next weekend for the season ending event.
