RACING CALENDAR – NOV. 13 – 16

This weekend has something for about every type of racing fan and two series determine their championships by Sunday evening.

NASCAR visits Homestead, Florida for the final race of its season and there are two championships yet to be decided.

Things begin Friday when Fox Sports 1, at 5 p.m., broadcasts the Camping World Truck series. That title is on the line with Matt Crafton having a chance to win his second crown in as many years.

Last weekend in Phoenix,  Chase Elliott claimed the Nationwide title and he joined a select few sons and dads that have won titles in NASCAR. The race begins Saturday at noon on ESPN.

On Sunday there are four eligible drivers that have a chance at winning the Sprint Cup championship. That race will be broadcast on ESPN starting at noon.

Further south, in fact going on as this is being written the Baja 1000 is in the process of launching the trucks buggies. Fans can follow the tracking and see live video at www.score-international.com.

The NHRA will crown its champions this weekend as the drag racers visit Pomona, Calif. Everything is shown Sunday as its tape delayed on ESPN 2 when the qualifying rounds start at noon followed by the elimination rounds beginning at 4:30 p.m.

East of this area, just north of Winnemucca, the desert racers in the MRANN series face off for the next to last race of this season. It’s the Gully Washer 200 presented by the Gold Diggers Motorcycle Club.

Saturday’s action begins at 10 a.m. as the Pee Wees race on a 3-mile course. Following them the Mini Bikes, Women, Vintage and Bomber riders start their event at 11:30 a.m. and use a 20-mile course.

On Sunday the Big Bikes get their turn with a 10 a.m. start to race around a 54-mile course. To be classified as a finisher a rider must complete one of the two laps.

For those getting MAVTV things begin today as the network begins a 13-week review of the IHRA Drag Racing series.

On Sunday, at 4 a.m. there is a live broadcast of the current World Rally Championship round. Then at 5 p.m. Dave Despain has another of his interview shows.
