MOTORSPORT PREVIEW – JAN. 1-4, 2015

For fans of motorcycle racing, especially those that love motocross, well the wait is over! Supercross begins Saturday as the AMA series stages Anaheim 1.

Those wishing to see what the course is like don’t have to wait that long. Just go to www.oneindustries.com and they have an animated preview that takes you through the course.

Early Saturday, if you go to www.supercrossonline.com the practice and qualifying sessions can be viewed on the at the section marked, “supercross live.”

Then that evening, at 7 p.m. Fox Sports 1 starts the Supercross broadcast and the long winter’s wait is finally over. With last year’s champion racing in Europe and James Stewart on the sidelines it could be anyone’s championship this year.

As usual MAVTV is hosting several events, all rebroadcasts, during the weekend. And there are several notable programs in the full schedule through the weekend.

Things start Thursday at 1 p.m. with Dirty 30, a program about sprint and midget racing. Then at 2 p.m. it’s the Lucas Oil Modifieds from Las Vegas followed at 8 p.m. by Speedsport.

On Saturday they’ll rebroadcast last years FIA World Rally event from Monte Carlo starting at 1 p.m. then at 5 p.m. it’s the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint car series.

And finally, on Sunday at 1:30 there are two of Dave Despain’s interview shows.

Not to be left out on Sunday KOLO, channel 8, will have In Search of Speed from noon to 1 p.m. then at 2:30 p.m. NBC Sports hosts the Volvo Ocean Racing program.
