MOTORSPORT PREVIEW – FEB. 5-8

As we head into spring racing is heating up as various series roar into their 2015 campaigns.

Just a quick reminder to those that want to race in this year’s Virginia City Grand Prix, Monday, February 9 is the earliest date to postmark your entries. If you don’t have the forms they can be printed off the www.vcgp.com website.

After Fox Sports took over Speed it appeared that several series wouldn’t be seen on TV. So NASCAR stepped in and created “Fanschoice.tv” where events are streamed live over the Internet.

On Friday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. fans choice will start streaming this year’s Chilly Willie 100, a super late model event. The mains will be on Saturday so those wanting to watch the event need to check for when racing will start.

If you enjoyed watching the Australian V-8 Supercars their biggest event of the season, the Bathurst 12 Hour race, begins Thursday at 1:15 p.m. our time. Remember it’s Friday over there and 8:15 in the morning.

This is a 12-hour race and it goes up and down Mt. Panorama with a 200 mph downhill section on a road no less. And not only is rubbing racing in this series but a bit of punting is also part of it. Former NASCAR driver Marcus Ambrose has returned home and should be competing in this event.

The event will be streamed live over the Internet at, www.bathurst12hour.com.au.

On Saturday, at noon, MAVTV airs the FIA World Rally Championship from Monte Carlo followed at 3:30 p.m. by Inside Drag Racing with the Lucas Oil ASCA Sprint Cars aired next.

Then at 7 p.m. ESPN2 airs NHRA qualifying from Pomona.
