RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 28 – NOV. 2

Racing preview still has a variety of events for the race fan even this late in the year.

As the season winds down there are still a couple of events to go in our region. This weekend MRANN will stage its final race of the season outside of Winnemucca.

As usual things start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by the Women/Mini Bikes/Bomber race. Then later that evening there will be Trick and Treats for those camping and maybe even a costume contest.

On Sunday – first day back to standard time – the big bikes start their race at 10 a.m. but there is one slight difference. This time, with the loops being so short, a rider has to complete both of them to be considered a finisher.

MRANN - Amatuer start.

This Sunday riders in MRANN will be racing to secure one of five class championships still up for grabs.

It’s an important race as at least five class championships are on the line.

Livfast Exit 28 will have two practice sessions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.

Saturday’s is for members of OTHG although a rider can buy a membership. Sunday is an open practice.

And remember to set your clocks back one hour Saturday night.

Over on TV Thursday is pretty slim pickings but on Friday things pick up with practice sessions from Martinsville as that’s where NASCAR will be spending the weekend.

Saturday begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Camping World Truck race from Martinsville. Then at 8 p.m. Fox Sports 2 has the FIA World Endurance race from China.

Over on the Internet www.fanschoice.tv has a selection of videos from various races but might not have anything live this weekend.

There is also another Internet site, www.speedshifttv.com that has various IMCA races this coming weekend. Looks like it might be a subscription site but still has some interesting events over the next few months.

For those that missed the Monster Energy Cup there are highlights from the event on www.youtube.com.

That’s it for this week. If you’re able the MRANN race looks like it will be a good one and NASCAR’s series are coming down to the wire.
