RACING PREVIEW: DEC. 31 TO JAN. 4

Racing Preview for this week is the slimmest yet but thing are about to change.

Because after this weekend new seasons start to fire up.

Livfast Exit 28 practice

Practice will once again be at Livefast Exit 28 MX track on Saturday and Sunday.

Locally Livfast Exit 28 will host practice sessions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For those competing in the Bishop MX winter series there will be practice at the Tri-County Fairgrounds, gates open at 9 a.m.

Most of the action will be on the TV this week. On Thursday starting at 2 p.m. CBS Sports will rebroadcast its two-hour program on this year’s Baja 1000.

Over on MAVTV things begin at noon Thursday with the Dirty 30 show highlighting this year’s best drivers. At 12:30 p.m. the next show is the Madera Late Models followed at 1 p.m. by a Lucas Oil Modified event from Lake Havasu.

Freestyle Motocross.

FIM Night of Jumps will be shown Thursday on MAVTV.

Then at 3 p.m. it’s the FIM Freestyle Night of Jumps followed at 4 p.m. by the FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators from Russia. This last event is flat track racing on ice with motorcycles.

Anything Friday will be on the Internet.

Over on www.fanschoice.tv there several videos are available of different events from motorcycles to sports cars. And www.speedshift.tv has a Winter Heat Sprint Car event on Friday and Saturday, but you’ll have to check the site for the times.

Then at 2 p.m. Saturday MAVTV has the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models racing in part three of the 39th Annual Winternationals followed at 3:30 p.m. by AMRA Mud Racing and later, at 4 p.m., with the Lucas Oil ASCA Sprint cars.

While there are several shows on Sunday one at noon is Lucas Oil Drag Boat racing from Parker, Arizona.

Then on Monday NBC Sports, at 2:30 p.m. has the start of Stage 1 of the Dakar Rally.

On Monday the Dakar Rally begins and NBC Sports will show the start of Stage 1.

That’s it for now. Next week Supercross begins and will be followed by other series beginning their racing year.
