MOTORSPORT PREVIEW: JUNE 16 TO 19

Motorsport Preview for this week has a whole lot of motorcycle action, some oval track racing, national as well as international events.

For motocross riders that want some practice Livfast Exit 28 MX track will host practice sessions from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

But the big event is south of here as the annual Mammoth Motocross begins on Friday and runs through Sunday, June 26. All age groups are covered and it draws riders from all over.

We here at nvracingnews want to give our best wishes to our local riders the will be racing down there.

For those wanting to race motocross this weekend there are three options. Riverfront MX Park, in Marysville, California will host an event on Saturday while north of here at the Alturas MX Park they have practice and racing Saturday and Sunday.

There is also a round of the Summer Classic MX series at Hollister on Sunday.

This weekend has the final spring race for the MRANN desert racers and they get to reopen the Honey Lake Motocross track with European Scrambles up at Milford, California located south of Susanville.

Saturday begins at 9 a.m. when the Pee Wees and 65c Beginner riders take off. They’re followed by the Mini Bikes then Women’s, Bombers and Vintage bikes.

Sunday begins at 8:30 a.m. when the Big Bikes take to the track followed by the Amateurs then Novice riders. Each class gets its owned timed event.

There are three oval track races this weekend with one track going dark.

Fernley 95A Speedway has canceled its event to help the one in Tonopah where the next round of the Nevada Pro Stock Association will be run Saturday evening.

North of here on Friday evening Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville hoss one of its regular races. Then at 7 p.m. Saturday, American Valley Speedway has another of its points races plus a $1,000 to win IMCA Modified event.

Over on the TV side there is a lot of action as well.

On Thursday at 4 p.m. CBS Sports airs a British Touring Car race.

Friday begins at 6 a.m. with Formula 1 practice from Baku; It’s a street race and is this year’s European Grand Prix. Then at 2 p.m. Fox Sports has practice session for both the Xfinity and Camping World Truck series from Iowa.

Saturday begins with the international classic, The 24 Hours of LeMans that starts at 5:30 a.m. on Fox Sports 1 and switches from them to Fox Sports 2 as the event rolls on.

Formula 1 qualifying begins at 6 a.m. on NBC Sports.

Then at 10 a.m. MAVTV has the first motos from the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series that races at Mt. Morris. The second motos begins at noon over on NBC Sports.

If you miss this race you can see the 250 and 450 motos later next week on www.promotocross.com.

The Camping World Series race is aired at 5 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. And at 11:30 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the end of the 24 Hours of LeMans event.

Over on www.fanschoice.tv there will be five short track races streamed starting at noon.

NBC Sports gets Sunday going at 5 a.m. with the Formula 1 race. Then at 10 a.m. Fox Sports has the Xfinity race from Iowa followed at 1 p.m. by the NHRA drag races from Bristol, Tennessee.

CBS Sports begins their Sunday menu begins at 10 a.m. with a Stadium Super Truck event followed by other races and ending at 4 p.m. with a Lucas Oil Off Road race.
