RACING PREVIEW: JULY 7 TO 10

Racing preview for this week has an unusual weekend locally but nationally and internationally there is a whole lot going on for racing fans.

In our immediate region there will be no racing. However on Friday, sorry don’t know the time, Winnemucca Regional Raceway will have a full schedule of racing. Then on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. Hawthorne Speedway is going to have racing.

For the two-wheel crowd Livfast Exit 28 motocross track will have practice sessions from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Livfast Exit 29 Motocross track has practice sessions Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday Riverfront MX Park in Marysville, California will host the next round in its summer series.

For readers down in the Carson City, Minden and Gardnerville area there will be a cruise in the run up to the Silver Dollar Classic. Today it will be at the Carson Lanes – Johnny Rockets.

Next Wednesday the cruise locally will be the Tamarack Junction Casino and Restaurant located at South Virginia and Damonte Ranch Parkway. The show runs from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.

Over on TV there is another buffet of action starting at 4 p.m. Thursday on CBS Sports as they broadcast another Australian V8 Supercar event.

An hour later Fox Sports 1 will have the Camping World Truck race from Kentucky and at that same time CBS Sports airs a World Challenge event from Road America.

Then on Friday, starting at 5 p.m., NBC Sports has the Xfinity race from Kentucky.

Saturday beings at 10 a.m. on MAVTV as they show the first motos in the Pro Motocross series that is visiting Southwick. At 12:30 p.m. NBC will have the second motos. Remember if you can’t watch the motos live you can see them next week on www.promotocross.com.

At 4 p.m. NBC Sports airs the NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Kentucky and at 6 p.m. Fox Sports 2 has an ARCA race from Iowa.

Also on Saturday www.fanschoice.tv has a series of races beginning at 9:25 a.m. and starting at 3 p.m. with a series of short track events from around the country.

Sunday begins early, at 4:30 a.m. as CNBC broadcast the British Grand Prix from Silverstone, where the modern Formula 1 series began. The race is rebroadcast at 11:30 a.m. on NBC Sports.

Then at 8 a.m. Fox Sports 1 has the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car race from Canada followed at 11 a.m. with the NHRA event from Joliet, Illinois.

Then at 2 p.m. NBC Sports has the Indy Car Race from Iowa.

day of racing on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. and going until about 6 p.m. with events not normally seen on most networks.

That’s it for this weekend. If you’re close enough do get out and see a race live as there is nothing quite like it.
