FLAT TRACK RACING IN CARSON CITY: PART II

CARSON CITY (Aug 20) – Flat Track Racing staged a huge show Saturday, much too large to be completely covered in one article. So this is part two.

Sadly this reporter somehow forgot to mention the event was a sell out as well as creating a good number of room nights for the town. And Promoter Robert Hansen’s company is On Trac Events. I apologize for getting that one wrong.

And when I wrote the first part I didn’t have a list of the event sponsors that stepped up and made this night happen. They are Carson City, Battle Born Harley, Street Riders of Reno, Michaels Cycles, CarsonMotorsports, McDonalds, Pizza Factory, Max Casino, Wyndham Hotel and the title sponsor, Craig Price Plumbing.

They even received appreciation awards for their help that helped make this event possiblt.

Hansen was told by CFTA that the event had the largest turn out of pros this season. A good sign to be sure.

CFTA: Pros line up for opening ceremonies.

Pros line up in front of the packed grandstands during opening ceremonies at the CFTA races in Carson City.

Now he’ll begin to seek additional sponsors and start planning for next year’s visit by the CFTA. It should be even better then.

As I mentioned it was impossible to cover it all in one article. However the full list of results are in the first part.

This time I’m attaching a photo gallery that has most of the afternoon winners plus some action shots as well. I still have many more photos of the action and individual riders.

Speaking personally it was a great show and I really enjoyed being there. The races also brought out some area desert and motocross racers that wanted to compete and see what flat track racing was all about.

We now have three very appreciated sponsors that are helping support this site.

Our newest sponsor is Concours Body Shop owned by Gil Grieve, a veteran racer himself and a long time supporter of motorsports.

His shop does quality work and if you need their services remember they support racing so please support them.

The shop’s website is, www.concoursbodyshop.net.

If you are into karting or want the most cost effective way to start racing then Nevada Kart Sport is where you want to go. It’s the only full service kart shop in our region and even retails karts.

The shop’s website is, www.nevadakartsport.com.

If you are into the riding lifestyle or race a motorcycle then Reno Motorsports is the place to go. They have about everything a person could want including a full service shop in the back.

Their website is, www.rms-renomotorsports.com.

If your business is aimed toward the motorcycle or motorsport demographic we are looking for more sponsors. You can contact us either through the comment section of the site or our Face Book page.
