RACING PREVIEW: SEPT 1 TO 5

Interesting preview this week as while things are pretty slim in our area there is action all over this Labor Day weekend. And have some late breaking news regarding an area track.

Although the area’s oval tracks are dark this weekend there is still some action. Nationally and internationally there is plenty of action to see.

In the local two-wheeled world the fall motocross schedule has been released. Until then there will be practice sessions Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Livfast Exit 38 motocross track.

The series begins at that same track with two days of practices and racing on September 17 and 19. The round two returns to Exit 28 on October 1 and 2.

After that the Old Timers Club picks up the action as they host the next two rounds at the Fernley Lions Motocross Track or the Sand Box as most call it. Those two races are October 8 and 9 as well as October 22 and 23.

The first date is usually a practice day with racing on Sundays.

The series ends on November 5 and 6 in Winnemucca.

For those wanting to race before then there is an event this Saturday evening at the River Front MX Park outside of Marysville, California. Gates open at 2 p.m., practice sessions at 4 p.m. with racing to follow.

For further information one can either call the hot line at, 775-265-RACE or check out their website at www.riverfrontmxpark.com.

The biggest race in our area will be on Saturday, east of Fallon at Salt Wells. The off-road racers from VORRA and Ultra 4 are running an combined event and like last year should count as an Ultra 4 regional but this time its an all out desert race.
