Racing Preview for this week is another mixed bag of many types of racing including three races in our area that could be affected by the incoming weather.
The big race will be close to home at Desert Park Raceway. The Northern Nevada Kart Club is hosting fifth round in the KPX Karting Championship.

Drivers from California are expected and practice sessions will run all through Saturday with Sunday’s racing starting around 9 a.m. For those attending the KPX event, Desert Park Raceway is a quarter mile past where the pavement ends for Lemmon Drive. Should be an action packed day and they might even race if it rains.

The final oval track race of the year, had this wrong last week, will be Saturday starting at noon. It’s the annual Kris Kingle charity event at Rattlesnake Raceway and everyone is asked to bring a toy they can donate.
For the two-wheeled crowd there will be practice sessions at Livefast Exit 28’s motocross track from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Up at Donner Ski Ranch the AMA is hosting the Donner Hare Scrambles 2016. Racing is expected to start at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Of course this will really depend on the weather as it might be snowing up there.

Then right here in Reno Hot August Nights it’s final event of the year, the Fall Frenzy. It’s supposed to start at 9 a.m. in Baldini’s parking lot but again it will depend on the weather.

As a reminder, next week the Nitto Tires Ultra 4 Nationals roll into Wild West Motorsport Park located off I-80 east of Sparks. It’s an event race fans really don’t want to miss.
Friday is for practice and qualifying while the racing, and they do race across rocks as shown in the poster as well as over boulders.

Over in TV land things are also hopping this weekend.
On Thursday CBS Sports, starting at 8 a.m. will broadcast a British Touring Car event. It’s very different racing from we here in the U.S. are used to seeing and sometimes gets pretty wild.
Then on Friday NBC Sports gets things rolling at 11 a.m. with NASCAR practice sessions and qualifying from Kansas.
Then at 4:30 p.m. Fox Sports One has NHRA qualifying from Dallas followed at 5:30 p.m. by an ARCA race from Kansas.
Saturday begins at 8 a.m. on NBC Sports with more practice and qualifying from Kansas followed at noon with the Xfinity race.
Then at 6:30 p.m. Fox Sports 2 carries live coverage of this year’s Monster Energy Cup from Las Vegas. And at 10 p.m. Fox Sports 2 and 1 will rotate coverage of the FIA World Endurance event from Japan.
Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with a German Touring Car event from Hockenheim on CBS Sports. Then at 11:15 NBC will carry the Sprint Cup race from Kansas as drivers try and work their way through eliminations as they chase the championship.

Fox Sports 1 has the NHRA event from Dallas with an 11 a.m. start time to the broadcast.This series is also in the countdown toward its national championships.

Then at noon CBS Sports has delayed coverage of the World Challenge event from Laguna Seca.
Over on the Internet www.fanschoice.tv has two oval track events from Tucson Speedway. Both begin at 3 p.m. as the King of the Wing Sprints host two races.
That’s it for this weekend but if you can be sure and come out to one of the events. If you go to Fallon please bring a toy you can donate and if you’ve never seen go-kart racing try and get to that event.
