RACING PREVIEW: NOV. 24 TO 27

Racing Preview from now on will be a bit slim as most major series have either ended or are about. As far as local racing goes its over for the next few months although there is still some live races to spectate at if one doesn’t mind traveling.

Locally Livfast Exit 28 has switched to its winter hours of from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday practice sessions.

Both the Bishop and Triple Crown MX series are taking this weekend.

Down in Porterville, California, Rocky Hill Speedway is hosting the Thanksgiving Thunder Grand Nationals, three days of action featuring several classes of cars. Gates open at 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 10 a.m. Sunday.

In our area three motorcycle shops are celebrating Black Friday with sales, which continue through Small Business Saturday.

Down in Gardnerville Testa Motorsports has sales running both days and is kicking off its annual toy drive. For anyone in the area that wants to help out children in need please bring an unwrapped toy to drop off.

Racing preview this weekend has pretty limited fare on TV and the Internet.

On Thursday MAVTV, among its program listings, has both parts of Super Dirt Week starting at 4 p.m. followed at 6 p.m. by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series.

Friday’s gets off to an early start, 5 a.m., with practice from the Formula 1 event in Abu Dhabi shown on NBC Sports. Then at 1 p.m. MAVTV has the Performance TV show then at 2 p.m. by the Dirty 30 show followed at 2:30 by AMRA Mud Racing.

On Saturday at 5 a.m. NBC Sports has qualifying from the Formula 1 event while over on the Internet www.fanschoice.tv has the Turkey Shoot 125 starting at 3 p.m. from Tucson Speedway.

This weekend the Formula 1 season ends in Abu Dhabi with the world championship on the line. If Nico Rosberg is on the podium at the end he’s the champion even if his teammate Lewis Hamilton wins the race.

NBC Sports will carry the race early Sunday morning beginning at 4:30 a.m.

CBS Sports has been covering a bunch of events during the year and this Sunday is not exception. The action begins at 10 a.m. with Formula Drift Insider then at 10:30 with Mobil 1 The Grid.

Things continue at 11 a.m. with a list including program about the Supercross series, World of Outlaws sprints and late models, Mystick Terracross and finishing at 5 p.m. with the Lucas Oil Off Road series.
