RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 15 TO 18

The Racing Preview again it’s a bit slim for race fans although Northern California will have a very different event this weekend. There is also a live event on the Internet as well as a bundle of racing shows to watch this weekend.

Locally Livfast Exit 28, depending on the weather, will be open for practice from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be practice time at the Bishop, California MX track starting at 8 a.m. Saturday for anyone racing in that series.

The big event in Northern California is Winter Jam at Sonoma Raceway, Sears Point to any old times. The event is on Saturday and Sunday and features six tracks running drifting simultaneously. Should be pretty wild and for more information please check out, www.sonomaraceway.com/winterjam.

With Christmas just around the corner two motorcycle shops are having their customer appreciation day Saturday.

One is Reno Motorsports, or RMS as it’s know and this site’s first sponsor. They’ll have bargains, treats and youngsters can get their pictures taken by Motoclaus.

The other is Motosource, which is a big backer of local Motocross in our area. Food and contests will be featured there.

Sunday begins on CBS Sports as they start a long run of programs starting at 10 a.m. with V8 Supercars, then at 11 a.m. it’s Endurocross followed at noon by four hours of World of Outlaws Late Model races.

Not to be left out NBC Sports, starting at noon, has three hours of its Motorsports Hour shows.

That’s it for this racing preview, slim I know but in the background you might hear the sounds of shops getting ready for the upcoming season, which begins on January 2nd. More on that later.
