RACING PREVIEW FOR JAN. 19 TO 22

This week while there isn’t anything in our region TV has several live events including an international one that is in Miami for the first time.

Racing Preview this week goes over motocross dates that have been changed or canceled in our region. But there is some racing out of the area both live and on TV.

First I need to thank a reader that lives on the East Coast. Apparently she didn’t realize these reports come from Reno, Nevada so all the times I post are Pacific Standard Time and for you that are overseas we’re eight hours behind GMT.

Sorry for that misunderstanding.

Last week’s third round of the Promoto Graphics Triple crown was postponed due to the track being flooded. The same goes for both the Riverfront and E-Street tracks in Marysville.

The last word for Marysville is that they are waiting for the next storm to pass. And that third round of the Triple Crown was rescheduled for the weekend of February 12th.

For our readers in the mid-west there is a live event you can see if you are around Cloverdale, Indiana. The National Tractor Pullers Association is having their Winter Nationals, from Friday through Sunday, at the CBARC Expo Center.

I’d advise to make sure you have ear plugs as it should be an action packed show.

As for the Internet, well really nothing there as far as live events this weekend. However there is a variety of reruns and live action on TV this weekend.

MAVTV carries most of the load Thursday starting at noon with a rerun of an Indiana Sprint Car Series event followed by the Super Stock Car Series. Then at 3 p.m. they have Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series followed by the Speed Sport show.

Over on Fox Sports 2 they rebroadcast an AMA Arenacross event from Cincinnati, Ohio. That series makes a stop here in late March at the Livestock Events Center.

Friday is pretty dead until 5 p.m. when NBC Sports broadcasts the NASCAR Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, which is followed by a recap of the 2016 season.

MAVTV gets Saturday started with a 10 a.m. rebroadcast of the Chili Bowl Nationals from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following that, at 1 p.m. is two reruns of a Lucas Oil ASCS event and an AMA Pro Flat Track race.

AMA Supercross.

The big show however comes on at 7 p.m. when Fox Sports 1 broadcasts the Supercross event from Anaheim. If you can’t record or watch it www.youtube.com will have replays of both the 250 and 450 mains or you can see the entire broadcast next week.

Sunday is a bit slim but MAVTV begins the action at noon with Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing and then at 1 p.m. has Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League.

Finally CBS Sports has this year’s Race of Champions where top ranked drivers face off against each other in equally prepared cars will be held in Miami at the Marlin’s Baseball Stadium.

The event itself starts at noon (Pacific Time) on Saturday and at 9 a.m. Sunday. CBS sports will cover it live on Sunday as well as have highlights from Saturday.

For you overseas you can either watch it live as www.raceofchampions.com or check with Sky Sports F1. Should be a good show as drivers race together in separate courses that are side by side.

And for you overseas readers remember to check that time correction I included at the top of this article.
