RACING PREVIEW: JAN. 26 TO 29

Weather has taken a toll on events but one classic “twice-around-the-clock” event is on tap for the weekend.

Racing Preview has the altered schedule for several motocross tracks as well as what will be on TV and the Internet this weekend.

First of all the next round of the Bishop MX Winter Series has been moved to Saturday, February 11 due to the weather and probably track conditions.

Over the hill the Prairie City track is in good condition and will host practice sessions beginning today from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. then from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Riverfront in Marysville, California has a night practice session this evening from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with further practice sessions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday.

There is still work being done on the E Street motocross track but practice sessions are slated from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The scheduled Amateur nationals will probably be rescheduled when the track is fully repaired.

Over on the Internet and TV there are a bunch of events and while many of them are reruns one isn’t.

On Thursday, starting at 11 a.m. MAVTV has the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League followed by an Indiana Sprint Car Summer Series event as well as a Super Cup Stock Car Series race. Of course these are all reruns.

At noon www.fanschoice.tv has qualifying for this weekend’s Rolex 24 Hour race from Daytona.

Then at 4:30 p.m. Fox Sports 2 has a rerun of an Arenacross event from Grand Rapids.

Not much on Friday but Fanschoice.tv, starting at 9:05 a.m. had a BMW Endurance race from Daytona.

Fox Sports 1 comes back, at 8 a.m.Sunday, to cover the final hours of this twice-around-clock classic, the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Then at noon, when the 24 is finished the network will repeat a Monster Truck event.

If you want a very different type of racing, NBC Sports, beginning at 12:30 p.m. starts with Luge racing followed by Bobsled racing.

MAVTV also has a selection of programs to watch beginning at noon with the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series followed by a Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League event then more Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.

That’s it for this weekend. We’re less than a month away from the Daytona 500 and soon the NHRA will kick off its series with the annual Winter Nationals. Finally, next week is when the annual King of the Hammer’s begins its week long run in Johnson Valley, California.
