RACING PREVIEW: MAY 11 TO 14

Another varied Racing Preview for this weekend with several events, live as well as broadcast on TV or streamed over the Internet.

Friday and Saturday is a busy time as Nor Cal Rock Racing, which runs the VORRA series brings the Metal Cloak Shoot Out to the Wild West Motorsports Park. Racing is on Saturday and, like last year, there should be some Ultra 4 entries to round out the field.

Saturday is also busy with several live events.

To the east Rattlesnake Raceway is in action with a 6 p.m. start to racing that also includes the Outlaw Karts. To the north the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville will be hosting another of its races while, to the south Tonopah Speedway opens its season with Ladies Night.

For those wishing some throttle time or racing motocross E Street Motocross Park in Marysville will have practice Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The times are the same for Sunday but it’s a Red Bull Ride Day and there will be tickets given away for the Hangtown Outdoor races.

Over in Turlock, California the Oatfield Raceway is hosting a Loretta Qualifier this week. Practice sessions Friday and Saturday with racing on Sunday.

On Sunday Hall Racing is having a Mother’s Day UTV trail ride starting at the Wild West Motorsports Park. Time in 9 a.m. and will run all day.

Also on Sunday at the Fernley/Wadsworth Motocross Track the fourth round of this year’s Battle Born MX spring series will be run. Practice begins at 8 a.m. with racing to follow.

Remember all times listed for TV and the Internet are Pacific Daylight Savings Time.

Moving over to TV Land Thursday is a bit slim but at 2:30 p.m. NBC Sports has NASCAR American while, at 3 p.m., Fox Sports 1 broadcasts NASCAR Race Hub.

Things start to heat up on Friday at 5 a.m. as NBC Sports airs Formula One qualifying from Spain. Then at 8:30 a.m. Fox Sports One begins NASCAR practice and qualifying from Kansas and at 5:30 p.m. they air the Camping World Truck race.

Over on the Internet at 5 p.m. Fans Choice TV airs a NWAAS event from Magic Valley Speedway.

Saturday starts at 5 a.m. as CNBC broadcasts Formula One qualifying then at 12:30 p.m. ABC show the Indy Car race on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Back to the Internet, www.fanschoice.tv starts a series of races beginning at 11 a.m. with American Flat Track event from the Arizona Mile. After that, starting at 3:30 p.m. it will stream evens from Berlin Raceway, Langley Speedway and the Salina High Banks.

NASCAR

Finally at 4:30 p.m. Fox Sports One has the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race from Kansas.

It’s an early up Sunday as NBC Sports, at 4 a.m., begins coverage of the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix.

Fox Sports One, at 10 a.m. has last week’s final Arenacross event from Las Vegas followed by an FIA World Endurance race.

Over at CBS Sports, starting at 10 a.m. that network has racing from Hockenheim, Germany followed by two Formula Drift events and ends at 1 p.m. with a Pirelli World Challenge race.

That’s it for now but if possible do get out and support our local racers. There is nothing like being at a live race for color and excitement.
