    FALLON, NV (Oct. 21) – Two tracks and a mud drag series combined their awards banquets this evening. Rattlesnake Raceway, Lovelock Speedway an the Dynamic Diesel Mud Drag Series were all present for a night of food and celebration not to mention honoring their champions. LARA president Chris Lumsden got things rolling by comments about the season and also indicating that the Northern Nevada Tracks were starting to work together.   • LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY: FRONTIER DAY RACES

    This weekend an annual event was held at a oval track in Northern Nevada.     LOVELOCK, NV (July30) – Lovelock Speedway hosts two night of races during the town’s annual Frontier Days that honors its founding. This year the racing card had IMCA Modifieds, Hobby Stock, 360 Sprint Cars and Dwarf Cars. “We haven’t won all year so got this new DeVilbiss car and we’ve been working, working on it every time we’ve had it out and its getting better and better but we’re not 100% yet but we’re close,” Joel Myers said after winning Saturday’s IMCA 40-lap main.

    Lovelock Speedway second night for its Frontier Days races. Same speed, less dust and close finishes. LOVELOCK (Aug. 1): The second night of the Frontier Races at the Lovelock Speedway had a bit better weather than the previous night. There was a wind but the temperature was a bit lower and humidity higher, which helped keep the dust down. Not to mention the track had been worked on during the day.     Another week of varied motorsports for the racing fan, including some in this region. One of the biggest events this weekend will happen at Livfast Exit 28, located east of Sparks. The track is hosting what probably will be the only night motocross this summer.     This week’s racing has a mix of two- and four-wheel action in our region. The Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track will be in action as MRANN ends its spring desert-racing season. It’s the annual Corey Herring Memorial race but this time in a short track configuration.   On Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. the big bikes can practice then at 10:30 a.m. the Pee Wee riders take center stage.     Octane Fest brings color and speed to Fallon. The Octane Fest rolls into Fallon this weekend for three days and evenings of action packed motorsports. In addition two regional tracks will also be staging their own races.     What’s racing this weekend is packed days of motorsport action that has something for almost anybody. If the weather holds local race fans are in for a treat. The biggest event in our area this weekend is the second round of the Over The Hill Gang Nationals hosted by the Reno chapter.      RACING PREVIEW FOR THE WEEKEND This week has both oval and drag racing for area fans.   Things begin Friday as Fernley 95A Speedway hosts the 2nd annual Dave Richardson & Leroy Kay Memorial race.
