RENO, NV (June 11) – Summer is officially a week away but racing and car meets are happening. As a result the event buffet table is overflowing.
CAR MEETS:

• The Iron Mafia gets the weekend with their 8 a.m. Thursday meet. Location is Kim’s Donuts & Tea House at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

• Fernley’s Friday Night Cruise is back. Runs from 6 until 9 p.m. and they usually meet at the Wigwam. Great way to end the workweek.

• Saturday has an early start when Fallon Cars “N” Coffee has a meet. Times are 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 ish and the location is at the Walmart on the west side of town.
- Closer to home Reno Jeeps & Coffee, starting at 9:30 a.m., has a cruise up the Hawk Meadow Trail, which goes from Somersett to Peavine. Meeting place is at the Somersett Town Center and the cruise leaves around 10.

– Saturday, from 9 until 11 a.m. is when Vintage Euro Cars & Coffee meets. Location is the Summit Mall parking lot near Starbucks,

• Sunday is when Reno Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month. The meet runs from 10 until noon and the location is by the Human Bean Coffee stand at the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lanes.

- At that same time Reno Jeeps & Coffee has a meet by the Human Bean Coffee Stand located at the corner of Longley Lane and South McCarran.

- Around noon they’ll be having Moon Rock Madness. This family event will run for about 5 hours and should be a fun time,

• On Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. the Bonanza Casino on North Virginia is having a Father’s Day Show ‘N’ Shine. They usually have all kinds of cars as well as a band playing music.
RACING (4-WHEEL):

• Two oval tracks are in action this weekend. To the east Battle Mountain Raceway has a Friday-Saturday show with a 7 p.m. start to the racing.

- To the west Plumas Family Raceway in Quincy has racing Saturday evening. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m.
MOTORCYCLES (RACING & PRACTICE):

• Although it’s not a race the Norton Feather River Rally starts Monday and goes most of next week.

• Good news for motocross riders as on June 21st the track at the Reno-Fernley Raceway will start having practice sessions on Saturday.

• This week Riverfront MX has open practice Thursday from 5 until 10 p.m. Prairie City MX will be busy with a Loretta Lynns Regional qualifier that runs from Friday through Sunday.
- Closer to home the Sandbox MX track in Fernley has open practice from 9 until 2 p.m. on Sunday.

• E Street MX Park will be busy this weekend as the tracks hosts Round 6 of the BBMX series. Sign ups are not open at, www.battlebornmxcom.

- In addition to the racing, on Saturday the track has a $4K Dash for Cash. The event starts at noon.

• This weekend the NGPC series visits the MMX track in Marysville, Three days of action with the Grand Prix starting at 12:15 Sunday and it’s also live streamed.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• Biggest event of the weekend is the annual twice-around-the-clock 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will be live streamed and starts Saturday ending Sunday morning, French time.

• This weekend both the Xfinity and NASCAR Cup series visit Mexico City. Both races are behind pay walls but highlights I believe might be on You Tube after the event is over with.

• For two-wheel fans the AMA Pro Outdoor Motocross championship is at the High Point track in Pennsylvania.
While www.mavtv.com broadcasts the motos highlights usually can be seen on You Tube.
That’s it for this weekend. If possible be sure to get out and see a race or visit a car meet. Either way you’ll meet some great people.
