CAR MEETS: • Thursday morning begins at 8 a.m. when Kim’s Kruisers assemble at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S.395 North in Gardnerville. • Friday is an off day but things get going at 8 a.m. Saturday when Obsolete Irons presents the Last Bash. Awards are at 2 p.m. and the location is at the Lazy 5 Regional Park at 7100 Pyramid Way, Sparks. • There are three events on the final Sunday of the month. RENO, NV (Aug. 24) — As August is winding down there is a flurry of events and meets. It’s a busy time for race and car fans. • Saturday got started with the Cars and Stripes car, truck and motorcycle show. It all happened at the parking lot in front of the Sportsman’s Warehouse. There was a huge variety of cars and trucks on display. Several rows in the parking lot were full of all types of vehicles. One unusual car was an early post war BMW. RENO, NV (Aug. 17) — A week after Hot August Nights departs and there are car meets all over the place. They range from Minden to Fallon as well as Reno and Sparks. • Two groups got Sunday rolling. Over by the Human Bean Coffee Stand, on the corner of Longley and South McCarran, Reno Jeeps & Coffee held its second meet of the month. Not far away, by the Human Bean Coffee Stand at the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lanes, there was another meet. This is where Reno Cars & Coffee met. As usual there were some contrasts.

RENO, NV (Aug. 10) — This past week Hot August Nights took over the Reno/Sparks area. Today there was a huge parade and trophies were handed out. During this time there were also two very different events happening on Sunday. One of them was the month’s first Sparks Cars & Coffee meet. RENO, NV (Aug. 7) — The annual festival celebrating classic cars is rolling along. Hot August takes over Reno, Sparks and for a couple of days, Virginia City. One feature of downtown Reno is the Big Boy’s Toy Store. It features accessories, parts, all kind of tools and t-shirts all in one place. The is also a contest and some of the winning vehicles were on display. Both trucks and cars were there. One popular booth features neon signs. RENO, NV (Aug. 7) — Hot August Nights has hit its full stride and goes through the weekend. There are also car events as well as racing to fill the schedule. CAR MEETS: • Friday, starting at 7 p.m., Carson Cars & Coffee will meet at the Dutch Brothers coffee stand. It’s located by the Carson Mall. • Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. when Fallon Cars “N” Coffee has its net meeting. Location is the Walmart parking lot next to Arby’s. RENO, NV (Aug. 6) — For 10 days the Reno area is in the midst of an annual celebration of classic cars. It’s known as Hot August Nights and while it dominates the area for 10-days each year there are other groups that are there as well. • One of them is VDUB, a Volkswagen based group, whose members have all the variations of this brand. RENO, NV (Aug. 3) — August means the start of the 10-day festival celebrating classic cars known as Hot August Nights. While it’s not the only thing HAN is pretty much the main attraction. • Friday began with a Show ‘N’ Shine at Summit Racing Products in Sparks. The turnout was pretty good with both trucks and cars on display. One of those was a Ford pick up that has been altered just a bit. Another was a very modified 1937 Ford.
