RENO, NV (Aug. 13) — While Hot August Nights is in the rear view mirror there are a lot of car meets and racing this weekend. Not to mention what’s on TV and the Internet.
CAR MEETS:

• Things get rolling Thursday at 8 a.m. with what is now called Kim’s Kruisers have there weekly meeting. Location is Kim’s Donuts and Tea House at 1328 U.W. 395 North in Gardnerville.

• Friday is when the 2025 Minden Main Street Event happens. Starts at 4 p.m. and location is Minden Park & Esmerelda Street.

• Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. the Nevada Car Coalition presents K-9s and Classic. It’s a car and motorcycle show to support the Douglas County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit.

- At that same time Testing Ink presents Cars ‘N Donuts with Battle Born Harley meet. Location is 2900 Research Way in Carson City.

- Earlier that day, starting at 7:30 am., Lake Tahoe Corvette Club has a cruise. Meeting is at 7 a.m. by Harbor Freight in Carson City. From there they cruise to Anneke Schat’s Coffee and Pastry at 3115 Eastlake Blvd. in New Washoe City.
• Sunday is a busy day and three different groups get started at 10 a.m.

- At the corner of Longley Land and S. McCarran by the Human Bean Coffee Stand, the Reno Jeeps & Coffee will meet.

- Not far away by the Human Bean Coffee Stand near the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lanes the Reno Cars & Coffee group will meet for the second time this month.

- To the east it’s the Fernley’s Motors in the Meadows Cruise-in. Another free event and all years and types of vehicles are welcome. Location is 1045 Inglewood Drive in Fernley.

• Over in Sparks there is another event starting at 11 a.m., the Pinup Car Wash has girls, beer, cars & food. Northern Nevada Classics is the host and there’s a suggested donation for getting one’s car washed.

• Summit Racing Epuipment in Sparks will have a Cruise-In Sunday afternoon. Times are 1:30 to 4:30 and the location is East Glendale just past the railroad tracks.

• Northern Nevada Muscle, starting at noon, has a cruise to Frenchman Lake. Meeting place is Red Rock Café at 210 Silver Lake Road then off to Chilcoot Frosty on Highway 70. If Frosty is open they might stop for lunch then on to Frenchman Lake.

• This week there’s a function on Monday as it’s Pizza and Cars or Pizzava Classic Nights. Show is from 5 until 7 p.m. at Pizzava Pizza located at 670 E. Prater Way in Sparks.
RACING (4-WHEEL):

• After qualifying off road racers are ready to tackle the Casey Folks Vegas to Reno Race. Race day is Friday and the motorcycles launch at 5:45 a.m. followed at 10 hy the CT’s then at noon the UTV’s and rest of the field.
- The route is rough and crosses Highway 95 by Top Gun Dragstrip located south of Fallon. Race ends at the fairgrounds in Dayton.

• To the east Battle Mountain Raceway has racing, starting at 7 p.m., on Friday and Saturday.

• To the south Tonopah Speedway has racing Friday and Saturday as it hosts the annual Jim Marsh Classic.
RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

• REP Racing MX is busy this weekend. Riverfront MX has Thursday practice from 5 until 10 p.m. Saturday is when Round 1 of the Night Series happens and Sunday, from 8 until 1 p.m. is DCMX Private Ride Day.
- Prairie City MX from 8 until 1 p.m. has open practice Saturday and Sunday. The Sandbox MX in Fernley, from 8 until 1 p.m. has open practice on Sunday.

• MMX Racing has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Thursday. Then from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday using the Main, Sand and Kid’s tracks. Same times Sunday but the Vintage track has an OSMX Ride Day.

• E Street MX Park hosts Round 5 of the P.R.O Motocross Summer Sundayz series. Saturday is for practice while Sunday is race day.

• Desert Park Raceway, at Stead, has a Minimoto Race Weekend. As a result there is no kart practice Friday through Sunday.
RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• Once again NASCAR has put all of its events behind a pay wall that uses more than one network. Here is the schedule but there usually are highlights of the races on www.youtube.com.
• On Thursday, on Fox Sports 1, at 8:30 p.m. is the Kevin Harvick Happy Hour.
• Fox Sports 1 comes back on at 7 p.m. on Friday. The network broadcast the NHRA Qualifying Show #1 from Brainard.
• Saturday at 5:55 a.m. Fox Sports airs MotoGP Sprint racing from Austria.

- Peacock comes on at 7 a.m. with Race Day Live then at 10 a.m. airs the latest round of the AMA Pro Motocross series from the Unadilla MX course.
– Fox Sports 1 at 4 p.m. has the NHRA Qualifying Show #2 from Brainard.

• Sunday starts at 4:30 a.m. when Fox Sports broadcasts the latest round of MotoGP from Austria. Then art noon FOX has live coverage of the final round from the NHRA round at Brainerd.
That’s it for this weekend and it’s a busy one. If possible get out and attend a race or a car meet. You’ll meet some great people no matter where you are.
