RENO, NV (Sept. 17) — Next week Fall officially begins so this last weekend of summer is going out with a bang. The will be plenty of car shows and racing both live as well as what’s on TV and the Internet.
CAR MEETS:

• Thursday gets going around 8 a.m. when Kim’s Kruizers meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea Shop. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.
• Friday is an empty day but do check the Carson Cars & Coffee page on Face Book. Many time they have pop up events and it just might happen again this week.

• Saturday starts off with the Dayton Valley Days Show-N-Shine hosted by Good Nuff Stuff. Participant parking begins at 7 a.m. while trophies are awarded at 2 p.m. If you are going there enter on River Street as they will lead you to registration.

- That afternoon, starting at 1 p.m. is the 3rd Annual Bow Tie Show & Shine. The host is Square Body Passion Car Club. Show is located at Mills Park in Carson City.

- Those coming down from the Reno/Sparks area can convoy to Mills Park. First meet up is at 8:15 a.m. by the Shell Station at Red Rock. The final meet, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. is at the Chocolate Nugget in Washoe City off old 395. From there everyone will convoy to Carson City.

- If one has a sweet tooth or loves good ice cream the Cars & Cream at Handel’s meet starts at 6 p.m. Location is by Starbucks at the Summit Mall.

• Sunday begins at 10 a.m. when Reno Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month. Location is by the Human Bean Coffee stand close to the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lanes. Good freeway access.

- In Reno, also starting around 10 a.m., the National Automobile Museum has the final round of the Museum Series Show N’ Shine series. Usually a good show full of cars and awards will be handed out.
RACING (4-WHEEL):

• The week Battle Mountain Raceway ends its season with the annual Silver Cup races. The action begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday when there is a meet so fans can meet their favorite drivers.

- In addition there is the Silver Cup Compact races. Extra money for the winners and some rules.

• This weekend there is not kart open practice at Desert Park Raceway. The Minimoto series is visiting the track on Saturday and Sunday.

• On Saturday the Legends of Monster Trucks visits the Douglas County Fairgrounds for two big shows. For more information please visit www.legendsofmonstertrucks.com. And if you’re attending be sure to bring earplugs as they are loud.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

• As expected REP Racing MX has a busy weekend. PCMX has open practice from 8 until 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Sandbox MX in Fernley from 8 until 1 p.m. has open practice on Sunday.
- Riverfront, from 5 until 10 p.m. has open practice Thursday and Friday. Then the track hosts Round 5 of the Saturday Night series.

• MRANN hosts a family fun day on Sunday at the 95A Speedway in Fernley. Hours are 8 to 4 p.m. and riders must have an active MRANN membership or can purchase a Day Card at the track.

• MMX Racing has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Thursday on the Sand and Kid’s tracks. Then Saturday practice is from 9 until 2 p.m. on the Main, Sand and Kids tracks. Sunday’s practice from 9 until 3 is on the tracks listed while the Vintage track is used for OSMX Ride Day.

• E Street MX has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Both the front and back tracks will be used.
RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL)

• For those racing the fall series with BBMX sign ups are now open. The race will be at E-Street MX Park.

-If you have a youngster racing in the Stacyc series their sign ups are now open. This race happens Saturday after practice has ended.

• Looking toward next year the AMA North American Arenacross Championship will return to Reno on February 14 and will be at the Livestock Events Center.
• Davey’s American Racing is found on Face Book. His focus is on western oval tracks as well as national series.

He also posts schedules for various tracks and there related subjects.
