STEAD, NV (OCT. 12) — The Northern Nevada Kart Club ended its season with Championship Day on Sunday. Racing at Desert Raceway Park sealed championship for many drivers that day. Weather was perfect although the event got over almost in twilight.
The Kids Kart Class gets the honor of starting the mains after all the heats have been concluded. These low power karts are raced by the youngest driver and use a stand start

- When the green lights came pole sitter Pristian Dykow took off, lefteveryone in his dust and won the race. Brooks Morrissey ended up second, almost seven tenths of a second later while Claire Morrissey was third.

Next up was the Junior 1 Rookie class. These drivers are recent graduates from the Kids Karts. This time it was a runaway for Tyan Knight while Barrett Ellison and Gunnere Yochum finished second and third.

Junior 1 had another runaway victor. One the green Kipton Bocchi took off and roared away to claim the victory.

Next up was the KA100/TAG main that combines two groups. On the green Jeff Wamre was on point but not for long. Soon Stevie-Ray Rosario took the lead and stormed off to claim the victory. Behind them, in fifth place was Andre Logan, who won the TAG Class.

Jacob Ciari won the Pro 4-Cycle main with runner up Hunter Colodny finishing second a bit over 4 seconds later. Third place was Jeremy Clark.

Another run away victory came when Zeke Corson left every one in the Shifter 125 Class. Further back second and third were close with Mike Glover claiming the runner up spot just slightly over a half second ahead or Jeff Wamre.

Kayden Williams dominated the Junior 2 main as he scored the victory with a five and a half second lead over runner up Jeremy Heath. Finishing third was Own Hanson.
The Shifter 80 was a close one. When the green lights went on Kevin Jerome took off with Sky Corson not far behind his rear bumper.

Lap after lap they circulated the track in a nose-to-tail formation. Finally Corson saw her chance and made the winning pass. She finished less than a half second ahead or Jerome while Ben Fisher ended up third.

When the Master’s main began 10 drivers took the green. Up front Steve Dow was on point and was being chased by Derek Anderline and Josh Prater.
In the end Dow won the race but behind him Anderline reached the finish less than a second before third place Prater.
The Senior LO206 had the honor of ending the 2025 season with the largest class of the day. When the green waved 17 drivers charged toward Turn 1.

Up front the duel for the lead was between Tyler Hanson and Nathan Heath. Lap after lap they ran nose-to-tail all during the race while behind them Isaiah Manubi and Landen Warren were dueling for third place.

Taking the season’s final checkered flag was Hanson with a three tenths or a second gap over runner up Heath. Behind him Manubi held on to finish third over fourth place Warren.
Now that the season is over the final points will be added. Then at the awards banquet trophies will be handed out and this year’s Karter of the Year will be awarded.

Next up is two Community Days at Desert Park Raceway. Saturday is a great time to see what kart racing is all about and maybe enjoy a free kart ride. Please note the dress code if you want to drive.

Sunday is another community day but this time for Minimoto. This series uses the track a couple of times a year for motorcycle racing.

• Earlier Saturday, by the Peterbuilt facility in Sparks there was the Community 4 Vets Last Detail car, truck and motorcycle show.

There were trophies, a raffle as well as music.

Only one vintage military truck was on display and drew some interest from those present.

At any meet there are generational contrasts. One was a Studebaker and a front engine Corvette.
• Not far away Sparks Cars & Coffee was hosting its first meet of the month by the Starbucks off of Disc Drive.

One car had a humorous sticker on its back bumper.

Not far away was a performance trio featuring two Corvettes and a Cobra.

Again variety is the name of the game and even a motorcycle was on display.
