RENO, NV (March 15) — Great spring weather highlighted Reno Cars & Coffee’s second meet of the month.

There were many cars and trucks not to mention folks looking and admiring the vehicles on display. A bunch would get some coffee from the Human Bean Coffee3 Stand then wander over to check out what was on display.

There was also a pretty good Corvette line. It included both front and mid-engine models.
Not far away was a blue 1974 & 1/2 Triumph TR6 owned by Andrew Ingersoll.

Asked about it he said, “My dad bought it in 1977 and it was the first car I fell in love with. When I was a kid I thought ‘that’s a race car,’ like that is the coolest thing ever.
“It wasn’t until I grew up that I realized that year I think they made like 90 horse power because how choked down they were because of emissions. So I’m like ‘it looks like a race car but it doesn’t preform like one.’ So I spent the last eight years basically swapping everything out.”
He added that his father was giving him a hard time and asking what’s left on the car from when he had it. The answer was basically the bottom end.

“It’s got the factory inline six, the two and a half liter but I sent the heads out to Huffaker Motorsports. They raised the compression for me, put hardened valve seats so I didn’t have to run leaded gas.
“They put in competition valve springs, whole nine yards to increase performance. I left the bottom end because we’re in Nevada and I gamble, I’ll run the bottom end until it tells me it needs to be rebuilt. It’s been holding up so far.”
Asked how it drives he said, “It drives great, with the fuel injection it’s turn key. I love it. I really love how common these cars were, they imported about 90 thousand but I kept being asked what is it.”

On the exotic side there was this Lamborghini that even has a roll cage in it.

On unusual car was this AMC Grelim sedan. It appears to be modified into a 4X4.

Not far away were two Vegas. One of them has been modified to run in drag races.

There was also a T-Rod that was part of the meet.

Many have taken older classic cars and have either restored them or bought them restored. One of the classics on display was this 1946 Chrysler sedan.
Next week Sparks Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month. As usual things get going around 10 a.m. but there are usually cars arriving after that.
