RENO, NV (Mar. 18) – Well here we are and Spring officially begins Friday. This weekend the car meet banquet is over flowing. On the racing side there is more nationally and internationally as well. To top it off, the weather this weekend will be great.
CAR MEETS:

• As usual the weekend begins at 8 a.m. when people meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

- There is another meet when Gardnerville Cars & Coffee meets starting at 6 p.m. that same day. Location is the new Dutch Brothers in Minden at 1752 U.S. 395 North.

• On Friday the Reno Bike Community is having their first Friday night Ride. Meet up at 7 p.m. in the lot by the Sutro Maverick’s, located by intersection with North McCarran.

• This weekend Carson Cars & Coffee has another Friday-Saturday double header. Both meets start at 6:30 and the location is the Dutch Brothers Coffee Stand at 1231 South Carson Street.

• Saturday, from 10 to 1 p.m. Nevada Jeep Club has their Scoups Ice Cream Jeep Run and Wheeling over C. Hill. Meeting location is Scoups Ice Cream & Soup Bar at 224 South Carson Street.

• Sunday, starting at 10 a.m., is when Sparks Cars & Coffee meets. Location is at the Starbucks on Disc Drive at the south end of Spanish Springs Valley.
RACING (4-Wheel):

• This weekend VORRA gets their off-road racing season going with the Prospector 250 outside of Yerington. There is usually something going on downtown before racing begins. Event runs from March 20 through 22 and further information can be found at www.vorraracing.com.
• Up north in Susanville, the Diamond Mountain Speedway is having its first test and tune session of the year. And the Nevada Sprint Cars will also be there as well as other classes.

• This weekend drifting returns to the Reno-Fernley Raceway. Each day begins at 9 a.m., there will be rides, tire services and on site camping.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

• This week REP Racing MX is very busy. Riverfront has two nights as well as open practice on Sunday. Prairie City MX has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Sand Box in Fernley has a DCMX ride from 10 until 3 on Saturday then Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. is open practice,

• Not far away the Reno-Fernley Raceway, from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday, has open practice. Location is south of Fernley past the airport.

• Up at Stead MMX Racing is hosting the inaugural Silver State Grand Prix. It’s round of the series and starts on Friday with Saturday and Sunday being race days.

• Over the hill E Street MX Park from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday is ride day for the Sierra Old Timers then from 9 until 2 Sunday its open practice.
RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):
• This week the classic track at Sebring gets rolling. On Thursday www.imca.tv and Peacock has the Mustang Challenge at 10 a.m. then at 11:50 a.m. it’s the Porsche Carrera Cup followed at 3 p.m. by the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
At 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour.

• Once again most of the NASCAR events are behind Pay Walls although CW is free on cable services as well as over the air.
• The NHRA is running the Arizona Nationals and on Friday, at 7 p.m., Fox Sports has Qualifying Show #1.
• Also on Friday, starting at 8:20 a.m. IMSA.TV, Peacock, You Tube an NBC Sports network airs the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car Qualifying from Sebring, That same morning at 8:30 Roku has Formula E practice #1 from Madrid.

• Saturday begins at 7 a.m. when Peacock starts broadcasting the 12 Hours of Sebring, then at 2 p.m. NBC Sports Network takes over the broadcast.

Starting at 10 a.m. Peacock has Race Day Live from Birmingham then at 3 p.m. it’s Round 10 of the AMA Supercross Searies.

-This time the 250 West and East series will have a showdown during the event. Should be some wild racing.
- Fox Sports 1, starting at 11:55 Fox Sports 1 has the MotoGP Sprint race from Brazil

• Sunday begins at 9 a.m. when Fox Sports 1 has NHRA Qualifying #2 and at 9:30 a.m. Fox Sports 2 has the MotoGP race from Brazil. Then at noon Fox Sports 1 has the NASCAR Cup race from Darlington,
The day ends at 3:30 p.m. when Fox Sports 1 airs the finals from the NHRA Arizona Nationals.

• Next week the annual Reno RV & Boat Show is at the Convention Center. Part of the show is the Off-Road Motorsports Expo.

• The Stadium GP is having a Volunteer Meeting from 6 until 8 p.m. at South 40 on Thursday, Martch26. Good way to help this annual motocross event that is held at the Fair Grounds.

• A week from this Saturday there will be a Member Recruitment Open House, from 10 until 1 p.m. at the Hot August Nights headquarters. It’s an opportunity to be part of this event

• A week from Saturday is the annual Pre-Race Drawing Party for the Virginia City Grand Prix Starts at 5 p.m. at the Red Dog Saloon.
• Davey’s American Racing can be found on Face Book.
