RENO, NV (June 22) — Great weather set the stage for the second Sparks Cars & Coffee meet this month. While the turn out was great it was a bit reduced from the last time. Between the Rodeo and so many meets I’m guessing some wanted to just relax this time.

One exotic that got a lot of attention was a gray 2025 Lamborghini Hybred. Still had the V-12 gas powered motor but ahead of that was the electric motor. The owner said when its started the car is quiet.
Another car that gathered a lot of attention was a rather worked on 1952 VW. Asked about it owner Montana Albitre, who was with his 4-year-old son Enzo, said: “I’ve done just about everything that can be done.”

He also added there as been a lot of work done on the Semaphore turn signals. Those come out right behind both doors and now have LED lights in them.
“That’s kind of an unusual European car thing,”
Asked about what has been added he said, “It’s got a larger motor, dual Webbers, the Transaxle is built up a bit and the car has Air Suspension. Its factory color and has a somewhat factory interior. I changed the interior a little but most everything has been changed in someway or another.
“I bought this car about 15 years ago as a shell. Spent probably 10 years collecting parts and getting everything together. Its been on the road a good four or five years now.”
There of course were several Corvettes. Two of them are mid-engine models and could be labeled as domestic exotics.

Over on another row were two red cars with their hoods up to display their motors. The import’s motor was trimmed in red while the Chevy model sported a cleaned up motor.

One of the sports cars had SCCA logos. It might be used in the local region’s solo competition or in track days at Thunder Hill in California.
Since next weekend i the fifth one of the month neither Sparks Cars & Coffee or Reno Cars & Coffee will have their regular meet. I’m guessing there will be other weeks, plus a parade to fill the void.
