TRUNK OR TREATS PLUS SPARKS CARS & COFFEE

RENO, NV (Oct. 26) – Start of Halloween Week so there were several Trunk or Treat meets as well as a meet for Sparks Cars & Coffee. Saturday’s winds didn’t keep many away from the Trunk or Treat events.

775 Off-Road & Recovery had a booth with treats for the kids.

• Friday afternoon the 775-Offroad and Recovery had a Trunk or Treat sponsored by Powertrain Industries on Longley Lane.

Several cars and trucks were decorated and youngsters could get candy from each of them.

Not far away there were three other vehicles decorated for the kids.

Consign Furniture also had a Trunk or Treat ,eet

• Over by the Target store off South Virginia there was another function in front of the Consign Furniture store.

Some of the places where the kids could get treats.

As expected the young were in costumes and enjoying getting treats in a bag or if they had a small bucket.

One of the kids came in a stroller with a bucket attached to it.

One youngster was even in a stroller but had a bucket attached to it.

Reno Harley-Davidson had a popular bounce house.

• Friday afternoon began at Reno Harley-Davidson at the store had a Halloween part. Outside there was a large bounce house many of the kids were enjoying

A princess showed up to get treats at the Wicked Ways table.

Wicked Ways car club had a table. One little princess showed up to receive some treats.

Inside there were more places for treats. Here a group in costumes are getting things for their bags.

The party was also inside the dealership and even had a pumpkin contest. Three youngsters showed up in matching police uniforms and were given treats by one of the staff.

Pizzava in Sparks is where Northern Nevada Classics had their Trunk or Treat.

• Even though the wind was blowing Northern Nevada Classics had a Trunk or Treat over by Pizzava in Sparks.

As expected the kids showed up in all kinds of costumes and were given treats at the cars.

The Grinch was on hand to give out goodies.

The Grinch was also there and he too was handing out treats to costumed kids.

The Greenbrae Elks were handing out goodies and fee hot dogs to the kids.

Over at one corner the Greenbrae Elks had a table. They not only gave out treats but free hot dogs to the kids.  

One can only wonder what Halloween weekend will be like.

• On Sunday the Sparks Cars & Coffee ended the month with their meet. Even though the weather was mild the turn out was a bit slim.

This 1965 Buick that had several improvements was on display.

One car on display was a 1965 Buick TI. The car was in great shop and attracted its share of on lookers

One row of imports at the meet.

It’s received suspension work as well as in the engine compartment. In fact it now sports a turbocharged motor.

There was also a row of imports from various makes.

This 2008 Caddy was also on display.

One owner had his beautiful 2008 Cadillac Convertible on display. In fact he removed the cover off the motor so it was easier to see.

One row was from a local car club.

Next weekend the meets start again with Reno Jeeps and Coffee as well as Reno Jeeps and Coffee on Sunday. There will also probably be more Trunk and Treats that happen Friday and Saturday.

OTHER RACING NEWS:

Only a little over a month to go before the annual Reno Toy Rum happens.

• With the holidays fast approaching I wanted to give everyone a head’s up. The annual Reno Toy Run is a huge event that helps many families in our area. It happens at Reno Harley-Davidson.

Next weekend is when the Sandbox Mayhem happens.

• This coming weekend is the Sandbox Mayhem staged at the Sandbox MX track in Fernley. Saturday s for the youngsters but Sunday is when the Team races happen and they are usually wild event.

There is one more off-road even on this year’s schedule for Legacy Racing.

• For those that race off road registration is now open for the Desert Showdown. It’s a Legacy Racing event and is held outside of Pahrump in Southern Nevada.

Later this registration opens for the races this organization will stage.
  • If one races in the Best in the Desert events they have merged with the American Off Road Racing Championship. Registration for 2026 opens on the 1st of November.
Last week to get applications for the 2026 Moto Mouth Mini Team.

• Only one week for youngsters that want to be a member of the 2026 Moto Mouth Mini Team to get their resumes in.

Trucks & Tacos meet ar 6:30 Tuesday evenings.

• This Tuesday’s Trucks & Tacos of Northern Nevada meet will be at Chihuahuas Cantina & Grill. Location is 7111 S. Virginia Street, Suite C-1.

Area car clubs need to be at this meeting.

• In a couple of weeks Nevada Car Coalition will host the 2026 Calendar Planning Meeting at the National Automobile Museum. All clubs are welcome and the goal is to prevent clubs from stepping on each other with their events.

Here’s an opportunity for someone that wants to help car clubs.

• The Nevada Car Coalition needs an Activity Director. A great opportunity for someone that wants to help the car club events in this region.
