RENO, NV (Nov. 2) — Wonderful weather greeted the start of November. Mother Nature provided a great stage for two car meets and the annual Nevada Day Parade.

• Sunday morning, stating at 10 a.m. is when Reno Jeeps and Coffee had their monthly meet. Location was by the Human Bean Coffee stand located at the corner of Longley Land and South McCarran.

Pretty good turn out and the weather was great.
• Not far away Reno Cars & Coffee had their first meet of the month. Location is by the Human Bean Coffee stand close to the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lanes.

It’s another event where everyone is welcome and over the past few months more street bike riders are showing up. After parking they also check out the cars and have a cup of coffee.

One of the BMWs on display had it motor enhanced. The owner stated he doesn’t like stock so changed the power plant.

Not far away there was a great looking Chevy Pick Up. It also had a very nice looking engine.

Over on another row there were two front engine Corvettes with different looking stock motors. The black one had orange covers on it.

Next to it the red Corvette had a very different looking motor.
• On Saturday this reporter, for the first time in years, headed to Carson City and the annual Nevada Day Parade. This celebrates when Nevada became a state and the parade is even longer than the annual Rose Parade in Southern California.

Usually law enforcement units start the parade and one of them was a vintage Chevy Police car. Even had a siren and red light on its roof.

Next there were many fire and forestry units in the parade. One unit was a vintage red Fire Truck.

Many political candidates were riding in vintage cars as well. One of them was riding in the 1956 Corvette.

The Lt. Governor was riding in a blue 1950’s Chevy Pick Up.

As far as vintage goes, I believe this is either a 1920’s or very early 1930’s pickup. The crowd gave it a pretty good reception.

Although many car clubs aren’t in the parade there was a group of Corvettes. The first two was a blue front engine and a white mid-engine.
Sadly this reported had to leave at the halfway point but I’m sure there were other cars and trucks highlighting the parade. Next year hope to attend all of it.
