RENO, NV (Oct. 12) — Even though things are winding down there are still car meets as well as racing this weekend. And there is an awards banquet as well.
CAR MEETS:

• Thursday, once again, gets started at 8 a.m. when Kim’s Kruisers meet at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.
• Right now Carson Cars & Coffee doesn’t have a meet listed but be sure to check their Face Book Page. Then tend to have pop up events.

• Friday, from 8 until 1 p.m. at the Reno Public Market, it’s Mo’s Drive By Turkey Drop. They are in need of all kinds of food including frozen turkeys. Location is close to the intersection of Plumb Lane and South Virginia Street. It’s also a great way to show off one’s car or truck.

• Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. the Reno Evo Club has the Last Meet and Cruise of the Year. Meeting place is Asian Noodles in the Costco Parking lot in Reno.
They’ll hang out there until 7:30 p.m. then cruise south to the Dutch Brothers Coffee Stand at the Carson Mall. Weather should be good.

• Sunday, from 10 until noon, Reno Cars & Coffee has its second meet of the month. Location is by the Human Bean Coffee Stand at 3380 Kietzke Lane, close to the corner with Moana Lane.
RACING (4-WHEEL):

• While oval tracks in this region are shut down for the winter there will be another off-road race in Southern Nevada at the start of December. Legacy Racing Association has opened registration for the Desert Showdown outside of Pahrump.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):

• Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. is when the AMA Encurocross series returns to the Livestock Events Center. It’s motocross with obstacles and is usually a wild event.

• REP Racing, due to the incoming storm will only have one of its tracks open this weekend.

- The Sandbox MX in Fernley has a DCMX Ride day from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday. Then on Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. there is open practice.

• MMX Racing has a TC event and on Friday they’ll use the Sand track. Saturday there is a TC race while, from 9 until 2 the Main and Kid’s tracks have regular practice. Then on Sunday there another round of the TC series on the Sand track while open practice is from 9 until 3 p.m. on the Main and Vintage tracks.

– The TC event is round three of the AMP MX Triple Crown series.

• E Street MX Park has a busy weekend. Saturday and Sunday the track hosts the E Street Classic, two days of racing.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• This week is when SCORE International hosts the 58th annual BAJA 1000. It’s a single loop race and SCORE International will have live feeds of the event.
• Now we turn the attention to TV.
• On Thursday the Racer network, starting at 4 p.m., airs BAJA Desert Championship origins.
• FOX Sports 1, at 3:30 p.m. has NHRA Qualifying Show #1 from Pomona. This weekend NHRA returns to its spiritual home.
- Then at 11 p.m. the Racer Network has Supercars from Australia.
• Saturday is thin but at 5:55 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has MotoGP Sprint from Valencia, Spain.

• Sunday starts early at 4:30 a.m. when Fox Sports 1 has the MotoGP race from Valencia.

- The network continues at 8 a.m. with the NHRA Qualifying show #2 and at 2 p.m. the season ending finals where the class champions are crowned.

OTHER RACING NEWS:
• Want to give a head’s up as on December 7th there will probably be three toy runs in our area. These help kids here in Northern Nevada have a good Christmas.

- For the biker community it’s the 45th annual Reno Toy Run. Starts at Reno Harley-Davidson then at noon Santa leads a cruise to the Convention Center.

- That same morning Reno Cars & Coffee usually has a toy run but after a bit they head up to the Northtowne Winco parking area. There Old Slammers of Reno hosts the 12th annual Toys for Kids 2025. This is to benefit the Children’s Cabinet.

• This Saturday, starting at 5 p.m. a dinner at 6 p.m. Rattlesnake Raceway hosts its annual Award’s Banquet where all the champions are honored with trophies and usually a jacket,
• Davey’s American Racing can be found on Face Book.

He also posts schedules for various tracks and there related subjects.
